BOOK OR GAME

So I have been writing a lot lately and I have start a piece of work that I would really like to continue. Its a fantasy setting with a slight futuristic/ steam-punk feel... Think like the worlds of FF VI, VII, or VIII.. And it seems like it would work well as either a video game epic or a book trilogy.. Now where I have a decent amount of confidence in my writing skills I have almost none in any sort of game creation skills... So... Thoughts?

DO BOTH

...Test it out. My book started out as an RPG, but I intend on making the series multi-platform as a whole (so several games, several books, maybe some comics)

So you might find the plot itself fits more to a videogame setting, or a book setting. If you have no gam mak experience it might be best to stick with what you're familiar with.
I agree with SorceressKyrsty; consider whether the story you want to tell would fit better into a game, or into novel. In a game, the story is secondary to the gameplay, naturally, so if you want to focus on the story more a novel might be a better choice.

Of course, a compromise does exist in the form of a visual novel, which is primarily a novel with visuals that may or may not feature some gameplay elements. For example, the 2009 visual novel "999: Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors" is essentially an interactive story, featuring puzzles and choices from the player that influence the outcome of said story. Something like that might work for what you want to do.
Thanks guys Given me something to think about.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

A game makes it easier for the audience to connect with the hero, but requires a lot more constant action. Consider if the antagonist is set up in a way that allows you to give something for the player to do at every single part of the game, and consider if the protagonist is set up in a way that you want the player to feel what he feels and do what he does.
But there really isn't action at every single turn.. There is also a lot of politics and intrigue.
Videogames do have the advantage of music and graphic. You could even mix both, with visual novel-ish parts and gameplay parts. Like division by chapters...
IMO, write a book if you have no interest in either good game design (fun rpg battles that aren't a chore), or taking advandage of an interactive experience (good graphics, unique art or music, player choices, etc.)
And writing a novel (or a draft) and transferring it into a game isn't a bad idea.
I worked out an outline of my story and started typing it. After some progress, I start converting it into a game. Sort of like a second draft.
