IMPORTING TILESETS

I have downloaded the DS resource pack for RPG Maker VX Ace and am having trouble importing the tilesets. I just want to play around with the map editor a bit.
I've imported the tilesets into the resource manager and it comes up with a red dot next to it, which I see means custom tielset. But How do I bring this set up on the left hand side whilst in map editor?
If I load a field map I only get the deafault field tiles and same for the other options. I only get the default packs there.
Any help is appreciated

Go into your Database and go to the Tilesets tab. Change the maximum amount of tilesets you have on the left and make it +1 for your new tileset. To the right of that, there's a list of A1, A2, etc.. Replace those with the corresponding graphics and then set the passibility using the cursor on each tile individually. X cannot be passed through, O can be passed through, and the * icon means your player will pass underneath it.
Do this for all of your tiles (including the tabs at the bottom which say A, B, C, D and E) until you're happy, then name your tileset and click apply. Then right click the map file on the left in the editor that you want the tileset to be used on, go into map properties and change it from "field" to your new set.
