[RM2K3] BATTLE COMMAND - LINK TO EVENT - HOW DOES IT WORK?

In RPG Maker 2003, under Battle Layout > Default Battle Commands > setting a new battle command with the archetype of Link to Event. How does this work? What event does it link to?
There is an option under M.Groups > Battle Events > Trigger that allows you to trigger a battle event if a hero uses a certain skill. I imagine you'd use it for something like a Steal command that couldn't be done by default in the editor.
Ah, got it. Thanks.=P

Another question: I made a battle command that links to an event that makes the party escape if they hold a certain item. But when the command is used it plays the hit animation and sound. Any way to disable that?
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

If the command is of type Link to Event, I think it'll play the character animation associated with "Skill" for that character in the Animations 2 tab.

To fix it, either change that animation to something that fits your skill, or change the command to type Defend. If it's of type Defend, you can still link an event to it exactly the same way as if it were of type Link to Event. It's been a long time, but I seem to remember commands of type Link to Event having some significant bugs with animations.
That answers it.
Yeah, it looks pretty bad with the animations.=/
