I was asking on a different forum about making RPG's on RPGmakers and such and someone said this was a good place to come to so here I am. I am interested in making an RPG but I dont know diddly squat on how to start, get a team, or do coding so I want to learn :b

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Good news: You don't need to do coding to use RPG Maker. It is all point and click unless you want to use custom scripts to do things the editor can't handle. And even if you do, there are already custom scripts written by other people to do 90% of the things you would probably want to do, so all you have to do is copy and paste them into your game.

Possibly bad news (but not really): Chance of getting a team is basically zero, especially for someone new. Everyone wants to be the ideas guy, unsurprisingly. You only get to be the ideas guy if you're also the everything else guy. Indie game design is almost entirely done as solo projects, especially at the beginner level. But we have tons of resources to help you and are more than willing to explain anything that you can't figure out or want advice on how to do best, whether it's technical problems or game design theory discussions about how to make the game more fun.

If you click on the Development button in the site's top menu, you'll see a Dev Highlights button on the right side a little ways down. It has some hand-picked tutorials and articles that the staff thought were especially useful.
Hiya, and good luck! I hope you find what you're looking for. (Doing what lockeZ says is a good start!)
Hey! welcome! I'm agree with LockeZ, finding a decent team is almost zero while being new, but if you know how to ask and you don't ask people for actually doing your game for you, you can get nice help. So good luck, I hope you like the community ;)
Yes, specifically: http://rpgmaker.net/portal/development/highlights/

This has a bunch of articles and tutorials we thought were helpful. I should probably update the list...
