There's one thing that always stood in my way of making a game: Graphics. I can't sprite for shit.
So does anyone happen to know any good tutorials on this? Preferably tutorials with a focus on gamedesign.
And keep in mind I'm a newb to spriting. Tutorials that say "do this" and show an example image without explaining anything are useless to me.

did you made your avatar? if so then you can sprite a lot more than shit. I had a nice web that collected tutorials of pixel art saved in chrome before I reformat :/ so I would recommend you too look on google and you won't be dissapointed since there are going to be a lot of nice tutorials. Once you learn how to deal with pixels (pixel art) sprites are a lot more simple since once having the base is only reuse and coloring and adding little details.
The current base of a possible game of mine.

Thanks I shared since I just notice one is one pixel taller than the other.
As for software I use Paint since I am used for years to it so I like it, ASE Sprite for animation although if you get used to do pixels in there it can be a lot more usefull than paint. And Photoshop for more advanced methods that can't be done so easily on the other two.
The current base of a possible game of mine.

You should read Despain's pixel tutorials! He has an excellent spriting method and explains the process really well, also they are written with RPGMakers in mind. I'd recommend these to anybody that does even a little bit of spriting.

I said I was a complete newb, do you really think I could have made that sprite in my avatar? I'm a modest guy but not that modest.
But, thanks for the help, I'll check out those tutorials and do some searching on Google.
