COMPUTER VIRUS

I don't know if this is the place to post it here or not, but you can just move it anyway.

Last night randomly, a toolbar called Security Toolbar appeared on my webpage without me installing or downloading a thing. Since then my computers gone crazy, i'm getting popups and my computer is about half (maybe less) the speed it was. I keep getting all these popups pretending to be my security center and trying to get me to download all these antiviruses. I can't get rid of this toolbar either, the computer doesn't seem to think it's there, unless I go on Add or Remove Programs, it's there but it just won't go away. I scanned with a windows 2008 antivirus popup and now its on my computer and won't leave, I don't think its geniune (yes i'm stupid) My anti-virus seems to be holding it off from doing any real damage but it can't delete it.

Taskbar popups say it is a Trojan/ backdoor Trojan, I don't know what that is/ does, I have nothing to back my files to at the moment. Please help someone

First, buy some blank CDs and back your shit up, doesn't cost much. As to the whole virus thing.. Ive never had that virus or anything. Try getting Norton Antivirus, It works pretty good.
Probably was't a need to post this topic afterall xD I was in a right panic, thinking I was going to lose all my work. Turns out this has happened to tons of people lately and although it's a dangerous virus I got rid of it pretty easily, if anyone gets Security Toolbar let me know (its a right bastard of a virus) and i'll talk you through it. I guess this can just be chucked in the rubbish bin. Sorry.
yeah, backing up your files is a really good thing to do. You just don't know when some virus will hit your computer. But anyway, i'll be sure to keep a look out for this.
Man that's bad news. Good thing you killed it! A lot of viruses can be killed just by removing the service associated with it, you know.

So how did you get it? Was it porn or illegal software? :-p Hahah it would be so awesome if you got it some other way but that is unlikely.

I wish it was something interesting or worthwhile like that! xD But sadly no, it disguised itself as an Active X download on some video site or something (which is how everyone I spoke to got it) I did try and delete the download but my computer couldn't find it in Add or Remove Programs, so when I clicked yes, it most likey just letting the virus in or something, I don't really know how these things work. It was a clever virus, it gave me popups on the task bar so it looked really geunine like windows does, luckly I noticed a lot of the words were spelt wrong.

I just backed up some important work, mostly my RPG (if I ever lost that...fuck me, i'd be pissed)

God. Speaking of viruses, when I was a little kid and used IE, I remember running a virus scan on my computer and it detected 435-ish results!
I got this thing last night. Pissed me off it did. It was more annoying then it was actual trouble... not even sure how I got it, as I don't go to a whole many websites, and never tried to "install" anything (although, this could've been my dad's fault...) Eventually, though... my dad just restored the computer from a previous date... which got rid of all the problems since the computer had no memory of all this on the 10th.

Win32Weird!
It infected nearly every .exe file on my computer. Removing them wasn't a problem though.
(Alright, that was because of a Rm2k game that was infected. For the next year or so it became habit to replace the RPG_RT.exe that came with all RPG Maker games)

I did get a nastier virus. No idea what one it was. I got it just after a Windows reinstall so I just reinstalled it again. It didn't touch anything on my other hard drives, so nothing was really lost except some time.
