Earthbound aside, that new mario game looks pretty interesting; reminds me of Superstar Saga~ :3

I wonder how they finally worked earthbound out? I don't think there was ever really an official statement about whatever difficulties they were having, but the most popular theory was about the huge number of songs the soundtrack sampled. it'd be interesting to hear some kind of rundown of what it took to finally get it on the VC.
I have it on snes, anyway, but a lot of other people have wanted this and it's nice that they're finally getting it

Having Earthbound on Wii U is a good way to make up for that awful looking Zelda title. Still need to wait for the Wii U to drop in price significantly though, like hell I'm paying launch price for it.

Sadly, I've never played Earthbound (don't kill me) but woohoo Zelda! It looks kind of mindboggling with all it's weird little 3D height effects and 2D things but still, yay for Zelda!

when I read 3D version of link to the past I was thinking along the lines of ocarina of time style 3D, but then I was greatly disappointed
honestly, if you didn't play earthbound, you're probably not missing too much, but for it's time it was super creative and memorable (albeit fuck the mushroom status thing early on) my attention span can hardly play it anymore unless I have an emulator to speed through the late game grinding. just a really awesome take on the dragon warrior style games of its day. it's just like any other old reputable snes game, nostalgia for those who played it > playing it now

I'm exicted about Bravery Default. And Earthbound. Finally.
I would be more excited for Earthbound if I actually owned a Wii U. Would it kill them to have it for 3DS too? As for Bravely Default, I was expecting it to come sooner or later. I'll probably play it.

author=mawkI wish I had Earthbound on SNES. Damn NintendoAge neckbeards flipped their shits when I asked for a PAL reproduction of Earthbound (the game wasn't even released in PAL regions, like many other RPGs)

Here is an honest question, is the Wii U VC library different from the one for the Wii? Meaning, any old console games they put on on the Wii U VC, can the Wii users get it too? Obviously we can't download and play Wind Waker HD on the Wii, but Earthbound and such? Or did they completely drop any support for the Wii VC?
