COMMON EVENTS ISSUE

Hi,
I have an issue that I don't seem able to solve by myself.
I've created a item (a bike) that is activated by pressing
the 'C'key(or space/enter) which increases the max speed.
In addition to this I want a set of picture to be displayed just to show that
the player is travling by bike.
The result I get is that the bike works as it should, but the pictures
will not be displayed at all. I've tried various of things yet I haven't
managed to get it all to work together as intended.
The only time I get the pictures to show up is when I assign them to
another key and that of course isn't the idea.
So yeah, would anyone have an idea about how I can solve this?

That sounds suspicious to me. You might want to take a screenshot of your event setup and add a link to it on here. I've never heard of such a problem. However, perhaps visual representations might help.
Have you tried making a characterset (or sprite) of the character on the bike and swapping to it? XP has unlimited size for character sprites so it should work fine.

You can find a few screenshots here; http://s1270.photobucket.com/user/xSyncrozx/library/RMXP .
I started to wonder, after my well needed nap, if it's cause I'm using 'set move route' instead off calling on a "speed script" that, in somehow, prevents the pictures from being shown.

I have actually not tried that yet, it didn't come across my mind last night.
I'll try that one out, not entirley sure on that I can get the wanted result but
I can compromise as long as the pictureset/animation is showing up.
Thanks for the idea.

Ok, from looking at your screenshots I have some ideas to throw at you. First off, you know that the "C" button is not the keyboard "C" but is just the confirm button, right? The "C" button is usually binded to the Z/Enter/Space keys.
The reason I bring that up is because in your third ss (with the "C" input) you a "else" condition, in which JUST your bike gains speed but no picture is drawn (just like what you describe). However, in your last ss (with the "A" input) you don't have anything in the "else" condition.
Let me know how that works out, if necessary I'll look for further solutions beyond this if it's not the solution.

Actually, the 'C' button is my 'C' key on the keyboard, including space and enter.
The 'A' button will however be they 'Z' key on the keyboard in my case.
I grew an new idea while testing your idea out which I just got to try out:
The bike speed is still connected to the CE 'biker' and I placed a EV on the map itself:
(Trigger: Parallel Process)
Conditional Branch: (item)in inventory
Conditional Branch: The C button is being pressed
Show P
Erase P
wait
etc. etc.
else
Erase P
Erase P
Erase P
etc. etc.
Branch End
The result is that the bike gets the speed boost it should and the picture set is displayed (victory!).
If I where to add movement speed to that event and remove the CE the pictures will not be displayed, it's kinda odd that I have to split it up like I have done now.
