Hey i was searching around youtube to find an online script for any of the rpg makers
when i came across the old video of Valhira online 1 of th few RPG maker XP online games. Seems Alex left us the ability to use his script and various setups for making our own online servers yay, but the thing is i need some more necessary assistance as he's not replied yet. Could anyone of you awesome rpg maker folks of such wonderful scripting knolwedge could assist me on how to edit the script or perhaps the spanish server setup so that i can allow other players/computers to connect to my server rather than just it saying online but only being a single player game X.X

I've found a few error that belongs to it that Hopefully some1 could also help me with, apperantly theirs a noSP error in the ABS script and the Esc key function seems to completly crash anyone whose used it. *I've previously distributed the files to my old rpg maker team/family and they've had the same reoccurring issues so i'm positive that i did not do anything wrong XD.*
Umm...did you read the directions? If so, you should detail what you have tried already. Since you didn't do that, I'm going to give you an obvious solution. You realize that you have to run the "server.exe" file first, then run the "Game.exe" file, right? Sorry if that's not helpful, but you'll need to give more info.
The fact i posted me finding errors in the ABS script while i was playing the game pretty much stats that i've opened and ran the server file but not have been able to connect with anyone outside of my own IP nor a separate computer to that matter. I was hoping to find some one helpful but instead it seems RPG maker forums are still full of rude immature people who love to throw lowly minded comments at people they think are beginners because of the need to dodge a direct answer towards the situations stated.

so answer your question, I played the game i hosted the server.. you cannot LOG on unless you host the server..... it seems you need to read the directions yourself. * sorry if that seemed rude but this guy could've at-least read what i posted before starting a negative post, that's how you discourage people from asking questions on forums... players like you love to do that.

On-topic... nothings changed no responses from alex at all X.X, but i'm not giving up yet, if some one could check out his coding or get in contact with him for me hes the owner of Valhira online. The game this code was birthed from.

What? I didn't mean to be rude with my comments. It was merely an observation, I even warned you that my solution would be "obvious". In fact, I even apologized for not being more helpful--so I'm surprised you still found malcontent's in my comments. I assume you took that apology as sarcasm, but I think that's unfair to assume.

Also, which ABS are you referring to? The one in the demo?

Again, my intent was not to be negative-- so that was not only rude, but unnecessary. I know you cannot play unless you log on, that's why I said what I said. Since I wasn't sure if you were trying to import this into your game and then trying to run it only to find it wasn't working. Also, I wasn't sure if you were using some other ABS that you found.

Well hopefully he's still supporting it. I unfortunately did not have the same problem-- I had a different one entirely (but this thread is not for my problem), since the system doesn't seem to work for windows 7. I did get an error though, maybe you got something similar, so again more information is required: what was the exact error that you received in the script?

Again, I apologize if you took my attempt at helping you as rude. However, you really shouldn't jump to such conclusions, especially assuming that I love discouraging people-- when you will see from my previous posts that I actually enjoy helping people. But, I'll avoid lecturing you, as that would just fuel the fire.
No worries, i had a bad moment and just went to typing fury lol. and yea I also use windows 7, the issue of what i'm encountering is kinda vague, there is no error which shows up during the online sessions, players simply tell me Games offline, or i can't connect to your server. Apperantly the Server.exe program is not clearly stated as to how your suppose to play the game online, unless it's from your own computer I wish Alex could somehow give us more of a in-depth explanation on what it is were suppose to do. I figured it was install, turn on, play but instead theres something way more different. Perhaps! We have to load up the game change the Given Scripts IP address to the servers IP address than click test/play game which should load up the Server message as the Hosts IP address right??
Hmm... yeah no worries. I appreciate the honest response. I understand, being that it's a frustrating problem, which can be...well frustrating. As such, I'll continue to try to help.

I just got my version to work, all I had to do was run the server/game .exe files as an admin. Is it possible that the people you had try it out could be having the same issue? The only reason I imagine his directions were so vague is because it's supposed to be simple. So, that leads me to believe the problem could be something simple as well. He mentions that the user should only have to touch the "Config.ini". Just because it doesn't work simply, doesn't mean it wasn't intended to-- sometimes it's a problem on the user end. So, that's the way I'm going to work this problem.

Anyway, now that I have it working, I'll test it out-- since I have several computers at my disposal. I'll have a response tomorrow.
I've tested it myself on all 3 of my laptops and the same issue occured as they said cannot connect but i noticed the IP address gateways from each laptop/computer is automatically changed even when i give them my client files with the Base IP address it's soo weird ><

Edit: OMFG I GOT IT TO WORK ITS ONLINE. ( excuse my language D: )

On-topic: to fix the issue with script Simply

1- Open the Project up
2- open Scripts list
3- Go to Configuration
4- Scroll down to the Servers section
5- Carefully input the IP address gate V4 of your current computer.
Mine = 192.168.1.7 ( if you wan tto play my server :D)
6- Enjoy!
Nice, glad you got it working! I hope I helped, at least a bit-- but you beat me to the chase. I figured it had to be something simple, since it seems like the person put a lot of work (and testing) into this.

One question remains though: I know you got the online working, but are you still having a problem with the ABS?
The Key issues nope it seems it's only a issue that arises within using test game, i'm guessing Esc = Log out, and NO SP is simply a pop up window once i edited something in script by mistake but it actually fixed it LOL.
