Hey guys I need help! Because I really can't make a perfect sprite.... Maybe you guys can tell me an instant Sprite creating program for RPG 2k3 or tips on how to make a perfect sprite or even a program to make one because Im really really clueless on this.. Someone told me he just uses paint but I dont know.. Im really Clueless!! Please answer... Thanks In Advance!!!!!
But when I make sprites using paint, It will have those green colored background behind it and some of its pixels will become transparent...
The green colored background is due to palette issues. Paint is either saving as a 24-bit BMP or the wrong 256-color palette.
Your best bet, as a total newbie, is to design your sprites and paste them into an existing bmp exported from your project (or work within the exported image). Make sure Paint is saving it as a proper 256 color BMP. If you open paint, open a 24-bit and save it, then try to open a 256-color and save it, it'll save it as the wrong palette. It's kind of screwy that way. Typical MS.
Also, there's Character Maker Pro. I only use it for identifying palettes personally, but it is a drawing tool that might pique your interest.

But I think, RPG maker 2k3 Is in 8-bit right? So All I do is, I make sprite and paste it into a bmp file then, I copy the whole picture and paste it in Paint.net and Save it into 8-bit
I'm not familiar with Paint.net or 8-bit, so I don't know about that :|
All I do (did) for 2k3 was...
1. Export an image. If I wanted to work on a charset, I exported a charset.
2. I opened that exported image in MS Paint.
3. I did my work and made sure to save as 256-color bitmap image, NOT 24-bit or any other.
4. I imported the image.
I could work on the sprite elsewhere and copy/paste it into the exported image, but then I'd probably have to tweak a few colors that get mangled.
Alternatively, you can use GIMP to define your own 256-color palettes. That's the way the pros do it.

But dyahlto, I have another question.. Because I'm not expert at editing exported sprites so What I do is, Make a sprite from http://charas-project.net/charas2/
then, paste it on the exported image of the sprite and aligning it properly. Can I do the same thing using GIMP??

Some people around here use it as their de facto drawing tool. I only use it to define their palette before importing into 2k3.
Pretty positive you can, though.
