WHAT TITLE, GET YOUR INTEREST.

i am trying to understand how people react to the title of a post, i like to know what catch your eyes.
A topic post? Generally anything that's witty while simultaneously tells me what the topic is. See any of Craze's topics.
Anything that generates interest in something to do or interesting to talk about. I'm a sucker for anything where there's writing or art involved. Or talking about favorite games, anime, manga, books, and the list goes on. Sometimes witty works very well, as Gourd there said!
Being witty is cool, but being informative and generic is important too. If I was naming the Battledome events by anything other than Battledome X, no one would know what's up until they read the OP.
So, make a title appropriate to what you're trying to draw a crowd for.

This thread's title seemed to stand out to me because it looks wrong. Considering the OP, it should probably read "What kinds of thread titles get your interest?".
*Edit: Then again, if the point was to merely grab attention, well, it worked!

-cough- His first language isn't English. So that's probably indicative of why it's the way it is. :)
@Marrend: there was a reason that i posted this :|. i am going to release a game and probably some blog post, i need to know what kinds of thread titles get people interest? what will be the name of my game.
generally i would never create a useless post.
Marrend, you mentioned my grammatical error, and i thank you for that.
@kat: thanks for understanding :).
everyone: thanks for replay, hopefully i understand what should i do.

You don't create topics or titles, post for your game, that's all handled by gamepages.
So by rule of thumb, you shouldn't post your game in the forums.

huh, i didn't post anything about any game. its a general question, and its not only about games. its a real life question, when you want to attract someone, what you say to him.
and all of this is because my English isn't good
i am just collecting data for god sake.

I wasn't trying to be a dick, it's the way you worded it that made me think you were going to post your game in the forums which is the wrong way to go about doing it.
hmm, this is probably my fault. i have a hard time expressing myself. i am trying to collect some data, by evaluating those data, i can understand how should i write. honestly that's the only purpose of this topic :).
you will help me greatly, if you tell me what catch your eyes, and what will you ignore completely.
thanks.

Honestly, if the title sounds interesting, usually in the line of game design or a brand new way to look at game mechanics, that's what catches my eye!
well i can't do it, but thanks i guess.
ok something like conclusion.
i see the introduction pages (as it was the easiest),
anything that was like " i am someone important" get the most attention. (like i am a artist).
anything that was friendly, and humerus, get medium attention.
anything like a "ala kavadra, ghoshi moshi vo" get the low attention.
there were other post, but it dose not add anything to the discussion.
so it seems useful and clear is the first priority, then come friendliness and humor ,and weirdness will be last.
so i should chose something like "What kinds of thread titles get your interest? (a collection of data)".

Meisam: Minor note.... Could you use a bit of capitalization?
For instance, 'I' instead of 'i'.
It just reads as lazy, especially in topic starters.

Oh, i was trying to learn this for quite sometime, its hard to get used to it, when there is no such concept as Capital in your own language. I just forget to use it, as you probably noticed even my punctuation seems weird.
I am sorry, I try to remember to use it, although i am not quite sure when i must use Capital letters. well i guess i should study English :P.
Thanks for mentioning it, and keep it coming. :)

For some reason, this never occurred to me? Weird!
Anyway, meisam, if you're thinking about what to put on a gamepage, information is key. With the "main page", tell players the basics of the story, at the very least. Not too much, but not too little at the same time. If the game has any background to it's creation, like it was made for a contest, or had any work on it done before you joined RMN, or other story of interest, that can be there too. There is also this thread that might be relevant?
*Edit: Er, this isn't about formulating a gamepage, is it?
This topic was more for general subject, although my motivation for asking was my game :).
You definitely helped me thank you. It proves that, being informative is more important than, being rhythmic and stylish (when I speak in my native language, I use a lot of proverb and poetic lines :P)
