Need Help Making a Story Topic

I have a concept in mind, nothing concrete yet, but enough to have a foundation.

I need help in putting them to words, completing the story as it is intended to be - a story. Once the story is complete, it will be put into a game.

While I can't dwell into the specifics, the story will revolve around mythology, destruction, and rebirth. The year would be around 2000 to 2020.

There was an atomic explosion that almost destroyed the Earth
20 years ago. Out of the death and destruction emerged a new
religious order called the Vain. The Vain believed that the
atomic destruction was a sign by God that the world should
be destroyed. The soul purpose of the new religion is to
bring about the true end of the world.

Something like that.
