I'm 100% new at making a game and i was wondering what was possible to be made with reason. I'm looking to make a game closer to pokemon mystery dungeon then a turn based rpg. I was wondering if anything like that would be possible with rpgmaker, and if not if there is anything that would work.

My question was a little misunderstood. I don't want to make a Pokemon game, but i want to make a game in the style of the mystery dungeon series.
would you mind clarifying the sorts of things that you'd need for a game in that style? I figure you mean things like randomly-generated floors with random contents, but I can't be sure since your description is pretty broad.
I intend on making the maps myself. so thats not a issue. what im looking for is a way for combat to happen on the same screen as the one you explore without need to transition. i was thinking something with auto attack instead of turned based best example i can think of is somthing like final fantasy 12 (toned down and in 2d of coarse)

Thanks I'll try looking around and see if I can find something similar to what I'm looking for. I wish I could explain better for what I'm looking for but the best I can do is give some game play from the style of game I'm trying to make.

keep in mind I'm not making a pokemon game nor am I trying to make a standard dungeon crawler I want to make my own maps as supposed to randomly generated. I just want to make a game with this kind of combat style

now I'm not looking to make a game that looks anything like this is just an example for a combat system. you would only be able to control the main character directly the rest of the characters will be controlled by AIs with preset automatic commands like "attack what the leader is attacking" or "use this buff when we fight an enemy" or "heal ally when health drops below 50%".I'm hoping this wont be too complicated, but I've got nothing but time on my hands.

So you're looking for something sort of like Secret of Mana where the enemies are on the same map you're exploring and your companions are controlled by AI.

Definitely doable; I would recommend RPG Maker VX Ace and a healthy knowledge of scripting. Either that or someone who can do the scripts for you. I'm not aware of any existing scripts for that kind of system but I may have missed one somewhere.
Secret of Mana is very close to what I'm looking for but not quite. I never intended evading enemy attacks to be an option since I wanted to make job separation very pronounced. For example having a tank with very low damage options but good ways of defending and keeping the enemies attention, and damage dealers who are much stronger offensively, but fall quickly if they do get the opponents attention. I guess the best way to describe it would be more MMO like. I don't intend to make it multi-player tho. (would be cool if I could but not trying to go too crazy)
