CloseI just thought I would bring these up since I was already checking out the forum stats. I found it moderately sad.
We have 45.5 pages of members with NO posts. In total, there are 451 members with at least 1 post. That is 24.8% of our members. Only 178 posters have 10 or more posts (a minuscule amount of posts). That is 39.4% of our posters with 1+ posts, and 9.8% of our entire member population. To go even further, only 82 members have crossed the 50+ post line. Once more, that is 18.1% of the posters with 1+ posts, and 4.5% of all members. Here is everything I just said, laid out

So, perhaps WIP and the other admins should get to deleting unused accounts? Or find a way to up post counts? Perhaps a discussion can occur in this post.

Well, may never know when those unused accounts actually finally get used. I remember when I first joined a site, I didn't post a single thing til the next year. Just a possibility. Also, I don't see why we should find a way to up our post counts, I figure we're doing just find with that. Of course, I think post counts are useless.

Upping post accounts is easy to do and can work but there isn't much use in doing it. Overall we are not a "large" community so none of us really have a huge post count. If we were to up members post counts it would draw a lot of suspicion.
Plus, if we upped members post counts from 0 to like 200+, they could easily look at the members recent posts and see nothing.

Also, why do we need more people? I mean, nobody actually looks at games anyway, we just discuss mechanics. I think it's fine the way it is.

I was just saying that it is a possibility to do if you want to up post counts. I don't think i missed what you were saying. ::)
Anyway, some ideas to increase posting would be:
-Let's have some more competitions other than "release something day". Maybe have some more of those mapping contests etc.
-Game Contests. "See who can make the best minigame in a week", "2 week gaming contests" etc.

There is a decent amount of activity on the mainsite from people who don't post on the forums but have uploaded games, added reviews, etc. And then you have people who have an account but have no reason to post yet. IIRC Jabbo had an account here for over a year before deciding to say "hello!".

We just need to spread the word, and lately the community has been pretty active. Also GW is dieing.

I was actually surprised at how little activity there is here. From the main site, it seems like a really booming place.

The thing that makes RM network WORTH posting on is that it's really the only amateur game design site with a well made database and managed by very skilled people ( :-* WIP). There have been ALOT of rpg maker forum sites popping up everywhere and it's debateable on what exactly is the 'center' of this rpg maker community. But I know what the center SHOULD be, and that's here.
Yeah, when it comes to functionality of RM websites, this place pretty much takes the cake. I haven't seen any other places quite so well organized.
