Hey guys! So I am new to the game development world and I am just getting started so bear with me a bit. I recently came across this game that I wanted to share with others. I bought a key for it which I think was worth the money cause its huge and addicting. I think of it as like a megaman/terraria/ with a bit of extra violence. Asteria This game is so much fun to me. I just wanted to show others what its like. I am willing to look at other games as well if anyone wants me to. I highly recommend going to this site and watching either the video for the intro or the creative tutorial. I loved it!

After reading "awesome" in this title, I already have a low expectation.
It does look like a bot posting, but the game itself seems legit. Although it is a WIP, and they want 30$ for it!

Isn't $30 a little much for an indie game?
Well, yes. Yes it is.

Seriously though, we think that indie games are massively under priced.

Maybe he's right...
Well i guarantee i'm not a bot lol. Is using the word awesome a bad thing? I thought it was ok. Maybe I am wrong. I was curious as to why he wanted so much for it but I haven't had a chance to talk to the developer just yet.

Well, they do offer a 30-day money-back guarantee (full refund), so that's fair enough, I guess.

And the WIP is 50% discount if you notice. Only the full version will be the full price.
I took the chance and got it on the 50% and I had a lot of fun. They are still working on the art but its a game in progress. I still really enjoyed the time that I did spend on it.
Yeah, I noticed it was cheap now. The price tag is scheduled to be 30, so it doesn't matter what the sale price is. It's still very high.
regardless of their own opinion of how much their work is worth, I think thirty dollars is more than a lot of people will be willing to pay for a work in progress like this... and I really hope they're not planning on raising the price again once it's complete. I'd put my own limit at about fifteen for a buy-in WIP version (and I already took that plunge with Starbound so this sale is a no-go), but if yours is higher then that's alright. I'm just not dazzled enough by anything they have on display to make an exception in this case.

I don't mind what they're charging on a philosophical level or anything, though. pricing work like this is always going to be a bit arbitrary, and I'm guessing they'll make adjustments later on if this price just doesn't work. something like this absolutely wouldn't work at full AAA retail price, but if the end product is nice and extensive in its content then thirty's not too uncomfortable a number. I'm not sure about their production values, but those aren't everything.

e: ChaoticEnvy, would you mind giving us some details on the game? your experiences and so on. this topic's a little bare right now, and it's tough for me to get a feel for what it's actually like (besides being enjoyable for you).

You are basically boasting about your own game that you are trying to sell. Whether the game is awesome or not, the players will be the ones to judge. ;)

But yeah, $30 is overkill for this game.

Haha this is by far not my game. Seriously I am incapable of bulding anything yet. My experience with the game. Alright. I could do without fighting mere yellow squares as mobs but they are still working on the art work so I let that slide. The crafting in it is fairly simple as you just need the materials to get what you need. No recipes or extensive building for it from what I've seen. The world is massive. There are 9 different levels from what I understand and you have to continuously upgrade to get lower and lower. There are also dungeons that you can go into and collect awesome treasure and loot from the boss. That's about as far as I got into it in one day. But yeah this is not my game. I've met the developer once and he is a nice person. I agree that the 30 could be potentially high and I haven't discussed with him why the high cost. Merely that I was playing it and loved it. I'm trying to get into the game dev world and sharing games and learning from others is where I am starting.
oh, so it's more progression-oriented, huh? that was also a facet of Terraria, I guess, but to a lesser extent.

how are the controls so far? how's the combat? do enemies just kind of hop toward you, or is there a more complex AI at work? have you met any interesting bosses?

You could always just buy it, play it, and then ask for a full refund. ;)
The only boss that I got to was Krawnix. Like a four legged dinosaur that shoots stuff at you. It is very progression oriented which I think is why I kept playing. With minecraft and such I just felt that there wasn't a whole lot to do so I couldn't get to into playing it. The controls are fairly easy to get used to. Creative controls are a little more complex but that's only if you plan on building your own levels and such. Other then that it's fairly easy. I would suggest having a tutorial level though cause I was trying to figure buttons out by myself. As far as the mobs go. Some of them do just hop towards you but there are others that are smart enough to know right when to shoot even if you are being sneaky with them. They also respawn if you die so you have to kill them all over again.
