It's a pleasure to meet you all! My name is Daniele and I'm a writer (sometimes), an rpg fan and I like programming too.
I will be glad to share with you some of my future work, based on my fantasy novels or defining a brand new story.
I have two important questions to begin!
1. I would like to purchase a copy of RPG Maker VX Ace from Amazon, and I'm asked to choose between "PC Download" and "PC Download - Steam DRM": which are the differences between them? Are they relevant?
2. I would like to install RPG Maker VX Ace on my desktop and my laptop computers, but I think I'll have only a single Product Key. Am I allowed to install the product on multiple machines?

1. I have no idea about amazon, but the Steam one requires a Steam account (and I think it prevents you from running multiple instances of Ace at the same time...). On that note, you can purchase it through RMN as well at our store: http://rpgmaker.net/store/
If you do, RMN gets a cut of the sale (to help pay for our servers etc...) and if you let me know, I can give you extra lockerspace and an achievement worth 1000 makerscore (the number under your name).
Also, you can buy Ace directly from the RPG Maker Web store http://www.rpgmakerweb.com/store - I think you get some bonuses if you do that (but I have no idea what those are!)
Anywho, I'd buy it through us or through RMWeb, because it helps support the RM community more directly (instead of Amazon/Valve).
Just food for thought...

for the second question, me and the big deal chief king guy of the english rpg maker scene have talked about it once or twice and his stance on it is that while it's technically against the EULA, it doesn't harm anybody and it's impossible to tell if someone is doing it in the first place. I don't think you'll get into trouble for installing it on two computers that you yourself own. I did the same thing and flat-out admitted it to the aforementioned big deal chief king guy and he basically just shrugged.

I thought there were more resources than the VX Ace Lite version.

its restrictions are things like locking the script editor and setting a low limit on the number of maps and items and so on. as far as I remember, all the resources are the same.
