RAR AND ZIP NOT SAVING

ok so i have a few games that require WinRAR and WinZIP and when i save them then quit the game completly i cant load my save like i never even saved it to begin with and have to start all over. is there anyone that can tell me whats wrong and if they can help me fix this problem it would be great!
EDIT*
also just a side note about 12 (maybe more if i miscounted) out of the 30 games i have downloaded to play are either a RAR or ZIP download game. and its realy bugging me because some of the ones i was most wanting to play and finish was included in those 12(+?) games

Are you running it straight out of the zip/rar file or is this in a folder?

If it's in a folder, where do you have it saved?
well i have the games saved in a folder for the title of the game so its more organized and stuff isnt all over the place so everything i have for each game is with the other stuff that the game comes with when its downloaded but with the ZIP/RAR games the gam has the RAR icon with the books by the games name. when i open the game the WinRAR/ZIP box pops up so i have to go through that to open the game using the winRAR. i have WinRAR set up to work for RAR/ZIP and some of the others. the only games i have that will save and reload after i exit the game are the exe games that dont require winRAR.
i have all of the games downloaded to my flash drive including the WinRAR. but when i open a game that is in need of the RAR or ZIP it opens the WinRAR window for that game and i open the game through WinRAR

try extracting the zip/rar file before you play because I believe this is your problem.
When you run a file from the winrar window, it temporarily extracts that one file from the zip and tries to execute it. Since all the other files are still packed in the zip, it won't work.
ok ill try. all i have to do is right click then choose extract all right? ill go ahead and try to if not ill let you guys know.
ok i looked and went to extract the files. i did the right click but when i did it gave me 3 different extract options one says "extract here" another says "extract files" and the last says "extract to (name of the game)\" and the \ was not a mistype. it has that at the end of the game. and i dont know which to choose.

It really doesn't matter, but that last option is probably the safest..
ok thanks ill try to and see what happenes hopefully it works
ok thank you i did th last option and so far its workin only tryed it on one game so far. but one more question. woud is be ok to delete the RAR/ZIP of the game so i have more memory on my flash drive? since i already have the game downloaded complety on my flash drive without needing to open it through RAR/ZIP?
Extract here will extract the files in the same place as the zip. So if the zip is on the desktop, all the files will flood the desktop.

Extract files, probably followed by a ..., will open a dialog box asking you where you want to extract the files to. Anytime a command is followed by a ... it means it will open a box with further options(this is true for all programs, not just winrar).

Extract to (folder name), will create a folder with the name of the zip in the same place as the zip. So if the zip is on the desktop, there will only be 1 extra icon on the desktop and you'll find all the zip files inside.

What you pick depends on the situation. I often pick the one with the folder name, because it's easier to delete the files and you don't have them extracting in a place you didn't want them to go. Sometimes the zip contains a folder itself, then extract here would work just as well because it will extract a folder with all the files in it.

I can understand not wanting to do anything wrong, but I would also encouraging you to try small things like this to see what happens. It's a good way to learn. Just don't screw with the registry or the files in /windows and you'll be fine haha
