WHY ARE RADIOHEAD FANS SO RABID AND OBSESSIVE?

Seriously. They're human. They're not perfect. Just because an alternative rock band decided to experiment a bit doesn't mean that other bands were doing the same thing in progressive, fusion, and krautrock. An alt rock band decides to get the stick out of its arse: doesn't make them the best ever. Kid A is decent. Paranoid Android is a great song...so is Pyramid Song. The Bends has some moments. But they didn't "reinvent rock" or anything. Just because the 90s were a stagnant and mediocre decade for rock music doesn't mean one good band should be elevated to god-like status.
Perhaps my annoyance stems from from this otherwise awesome site:

It's a community site, too. 4 Radiohead albums in the top 20? There WERE bands not called "The Beatles" before 1993.

haha I really like Paranoid Android, so I figured I liked Radiohead. I listened to a few albums and every song sounds exactly the same!
Why are Beiber fans so obsessive? Ok, that one might be hormonal.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I've never heard a Radiohead song that I know of, but based on having 4 of the top 20 best albums on that site, I'd guess they're probably pretty good. I don't know that I've ever met a rabid fan of ANY band or composer, though.
I am curious what experience sparked this thread, because a top twenty list doesn't indicate that there are any rabid fans, it just indicates that there are a lot of normal fans.

What, nobody heard of Creep? Anyway, I would assume that they fanbase is a small, loyal niche. Anyway, music is kind of like religion when it comes to fanatics ... to each his/her own.
Creep is okay, a little repetitive.
Most Radiohead songs sound too much like noise and not enough like music.

Why are music fans as a whole so rabid and obsessive?
Radiohead, Creep? Are these like rockbands or something?

@LockeZ: I am a "disgrace to music fans" for not being a big fan of The Bends and OK Computer. I've met some serious hardcore fans IRL. I think it's a case of their lyrics touching people deeply.

Probably, only they don't try and repress it.
Creep, Paranoid Andriod, Kid A, Just, Idioteque, A Wolf at the Door, Anyone Can Play Guitar, You etc, they really have many great songs. Though I ain't fan of anything, Radiohead including, and I agree no one should be considered God-like and best of the best of the best. Tastes are different anyways.

I legit punched a guy I didn't even know once for saying that the SNES version of Mario Kart was a bad game. I didn't even mean to, it was completely reflexive even though it was the only time I've ever hit someone who didn't hit me first. I think my brain registered the comment as the equivalent of a physical attack on my person. So yeah, while music isn't really my area of interest and thus I have no opinion on Radiohead, I can relate to rabid fans of things.
