RM2K3 BATTLE TIMER

For my game, Project Arcadium, I'd like to find a way to calculate time in battles that would count towards to the overall playtime of the game as recorded by my clock system. Does anybody have suggestions about how one would go about this?
Probably by a 1x turn in every battle that adds to the clock variable. It wouldn't be completely accurate, but the closest you'll get I think.
I was thinking about that, guess it's the only way
Right before the battle begins start a clock at maximum time (99:59, or 5960 seconds). Once the battle is done set a variable to the seconds left on the timer. Take the maximum time (5960) and subtract from it this value (so 5960 - seconds left) and you have the number of seconds the player spent in battle!

Unless they spent more than an hour and a half in one battle.

e: What I wrote and how the math should be done were two completely different things
Welp! GRS beat me to it... BUT, he forgot to mention PepsiOtaku's Clock plugin. I haven't tested it myself, but I think is a good alternative.
Thanks, I worked this one out pretty well :)
If it's 2k3, you can just ditch the not-so-accurate clock system and get this:

(requires DynRPG though)
It's for the best because I am really bad at math and did it wrong! 99:59 is 5999 seconds, not 5960. I don't even know how I fucked that up when 59 seconds is right there and can't create an easy 60 which should be a pretty obvious sign the math is bad.
