No, they do not. However, you probably used the RTP (the whole bunch of resources that came with the software by default).

Question: what kind of file came out of the maker? an .exe or .zip, perhaps?
People generally don't need to have the maker installed, but if the developer didn't include it, they would need to install the corresponding RTP package.

so check both boxes at the bottom the first time I did not check the two boxes at the bottom the 2nd time I did it saved all the files

However, if you are using "RPG Maker 2003" or "RPG Maker 2000" (god forbid), you can always place FullPackageFlag=1 in the RPG_RT configuration settings to get it to run without having to install the program on your friend's actual computer. ^^

Only if all the resources are in the folders. If you used any RTP they need to be there.
