*COMPLETE* DOWNTIME SUNDAY, JULY 28TH 9AM - 10AM CDT
Posts
The site will be down for an hour or so this Sunday around 9:00AM CDT (2:00PM GMT) in order to upgrade Django to version 1.3.7 and make a few other changes. It shouldn't actually be down for the whole hour, more than likely it will be up and down during the hour timeframe. I'll update this topic when I'm done. You can go here: http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html if you are unsure what time that is in your time zone.
The update has been completed!
There was one semi-large change to the: search has been replaced with Google Custom Search /w image search. Since the googlebot can't index pages it can't visit, we shouldn't have a problem with private games/forums/pages/etc showing up in search results. One downside to the free version of Google search is that ads are displayed on the results page. We could pay to get rid of them (might be $100/yr, depends on how many searches we do) and we might consider that in the future, but for now, I apologize to those who have donated and expect to see no ads on the site. I'll see if there is something I can do to fix that.

Some small changes:
- Game developers should now see a "Hide" button on posts within their gamepages. They can use this to "Hide" posts that may be spoilers or inappropriate in some other way. This does not actually remove the post, it just puts in some place holder text where users can click to view the post if they want to. If you want the post removed, you can report it and it will be dealt with appropriately. This is probably not in its final form, it was just something quick I threw in.
- You can now post comments on downloads
is the search not supposed to work or something? I tried searching for a couple game names and no results came up.
author=DiedrupoI searched a couple of game names and they came back for me. What did you search for?

It seems that sometimes the search yield results for me, while others times it doesn't. For the latter, if I reload the results they usually will appear.
Another thing that doesn't seem to be working for me is that if I try to sort the results by date, the selection button disappears and the results don't get sorted.

edit: had to clear the cache

For every one of those terms, the search returned the gameprofile as the first result. ie:
Homework Salesman, an indie Simulation RPG game for RPG ...
EDIT:
I am not having any issues with the search bar in Opera nor in Chrome, with regards to results, sorting or formatting on the site. Can you guys post screenshots?
Oddly the new search isn't allowing me to search usernames. but I'll try clearing my cache too.
author=DiedrupoIs it cause I'm using firefox?
Yeah, like Melkino's case, try clearing your cache. It should do the trick.
EDIT: Though to be honest, I very much prefer the old search bar to this Google custom search bar...
Eh, I'd like it better if it put user profiles first when searching for people, game profiles always first when searching for games.
It'd be a better system than the last if it worked that way.

I've also been having issues with the new search bar. I was looking for Super Mario Bros X and it kept coming back negative. So I used the actual google home page to look for "rpgmaker.net: Super Mario Bros. X" and got the page.
It's kinda sad that I had to go to the google site in order to search for a game I knew existed but wasn't coming up. And yes, I cleared my cache and cookies before searching so it can't be that. >.<;

why does it always work for me? I found Super Mario Bros X just fine. In fact, I am kind of loving the new search bar - it is so comprehensive, and the image search is handy too.
One thing I did find, though, is that it is hard to find a user without any posts.

I can't get the ignore button to work at all right now. >_>
I tried using it in Chrome and Firefox, even cleared my cache just in case, but nothing happens after saying OK to the "are you sure you want to ignore (username)?" message.
