NEWBIE IN NEED OF AID :) - BATTLE SYSTEMS (YANFLY / YAMI ENGINE SYMPHONY / GALV ANIMATED BATTLER / HOLDER BATTLERS)

Hello everyone, as listed above I am brand new to the world of RPG Maker VX Ace and have been trying to learn as much as I can, in some ways by plunging myself into the deep end.

Currently, I have gotten some of the basics down and wanted to try my hand at getting some scripts going to change my gameplay. The biggest being, removing the battle system and replacing it to one more familiar (ala Final Fantasy style).

I have taken the following mods and placed them in my scripts in this order (they are all below Materials but above Main Process)

Hime Works - Class Graphics
Hime Works - Large Choices
Yanfly Ace Battle Engine
Yami Engine Symphony
Galv Animated Battler

My character (I am only using 1 actor at the moment) has a note stating <battler: Knight>

I have downloaded a spritesheet from Holder's Battlers, and saved it in the graphics battlers folder, named Knight.png

Now when running test battles against slimes. The battle starts, but it is the same basic combat that comes with RPG Maker. Is there something that I am forgetting in order to tell it to move the slimes to the left side and put my battler sprite on the right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Scyclone

Placing the scripts in the correct order could be important.
Place Yanfly's scripts before the other scripts since they
are more important (ie. they control the battle system for
your entire game.)
Rearranged them to Yanfly, a space, then all the rest in the order as above. No luck unfortunately in the test battle (or does the scripts only work in the game mode, not test battle mode?)
You have to run a regular test play before anything will work in a test battle because the engine has to compile the scripts. It won't notice any changes until you do that. (Personally, I'd put the Hime stuff under Battle Symphony and Galv's system because they're more overall things, but that's just me.)
Alrighty, switched around stuff and tried it out. Upside, I got further than I have been :).

Ran into this error tho:

author=Error
Script 'Galv Animated Battler' line 738: NoMethodError occurred.

undefined method "*" for :right:Symbol

Any thoughts on what would throw that one? :)

I have never used the script.

Try running the game using only Yanfly scripts.
Then try again running without Yanfly scripts,
but those other scripts.

It could be that the two scripts don't work
well together.
Alrighty, I tried a few diff things.

I took out Galv and it worked fine for Symphony (Which has really nice motion animation).

I took out Symphony and Galv worked just fine (however, I noticed that it kept my sprite in a non transparent box up at the top, and looked a bit odd fighting. Instead of moving to the mob to strike, it just swung the sword while standing in a giant green box up near the top) - I was using one of Holder's Battler sprites (the Knight one)

Odd
Ah ha, figured out I was missing an add on for Symphony to get the battlers to show up.

Got that all worked out.

Thanks again for all the help everyone :)
