BUILDING A HOUSE

I wanna make something like where I make a fully functional house "pop out of nowhere." I could do this with a picture, but I wanna be able to customize it on the spot by adding or removing stuff. So, basically a house as a charset.
Trouble is, I can draw even as good as the RTP. I can edit, and if worst comes to worst, I can try breaking the chipset up into a charset. But I'd want better sprites as a first option. Can someone help in this regard? It should be designed so it's expandable.

Maybe you can make something like use an event and put an event in a position with a graphic of a house, and pressing the button go to a map with the house interior,
as make a big graphic in a normal area is difficult, some games use something of 16x16 that teleport to another map (pokemon with the tree house, terranigma with the book)

I suppose I could do multiple screens but it would get annoying...
Basically, I have a screen where there's subjective reality, and people are doing stuff like "Man, I could really use a seat, my feet are tired" and BAM chair appears. Some of the stuff like beds and the like are already part of the chipset, but the house stuff is set up weird.
I'm basically chunking this as 16 x 16 blocks, which is fine for chipsetting, but I dunno what the rules are for spriting and getting stuff to fit. Also I'm betting money that's needing to be realigned.

In 2k3? Are you talking about customizing the outside of the house or the inside, or both? Also are you talking about allowing the player to customize it while in game? or did you just want to be able to make a house appear and disappear on que...I have an idea for how to do what I think you want to do, however I'm not sure exactly what you want to do. With a little more info I'll try to get something worked out.
It's a plot scene, not a gameplay thing.
Where a house is built, sort of brick (well, maybe only 16x16) by brick. It has to be solid with similar pass-through traits as an actual house, so that rules out picture. And because houses are built one at a time, it becomes kinda alot of extraneous maps when mainly what you want is to do the process however you want.
Update: solved it by tileset edit.
