Help I tried everything and no matter what I do I keep getting "Read Stream Error" everytime I try to import a Chipset. You see I make my own graphics for my games and I was trying to import the .BMP file (Yes I have it at the correct proportions, Colour and size) and everytime I click import I keep getting "Read Stream Error" Please if you can help please make the solution clear as I am a complete noob when it comes to stuff like this :(
Try making it a .png file instead. Double check that it's set to 256 colours, too.
Ok I tried that but now it is giving me a whole host of new problems such as "Invalid file size" Is there any program I should use to make my tilesets other than Tile Studio and Photoshop? I mean I think that it may be those two programs making my chipset woes as I have tried saving it as PNG and setting it to 256 colours several times and it still rejects them :( I think I may be missing a step here. Are there any tutorials on how to set up chipsets with pictures?
Invalid file size usually indicates that the actual size of the graphic doesn't correspond to the sizes that are needed for the different files.
If it's a chipset in 2k/3 it needs to be 480x256 pixels in size (wxh).
Character sets are 288x256. (Four rows of three 24x32 (wxh) in width, two high. That's enough for 8 characters per sheet.)

Other graphics have other sizes that they need to be to work in 2k3 properly.

I also recommend iDraw if you're using 2k/3. It automatically saves in 256 colour and makes it easy to edit pixelled graphics. The main issue with the program, though, is that it will not open any files that are over that colour limit and it does have a few bugs when it comes to copy/paste.
If it messes up, just rehighlight the part you want to copy and paste again. If it still messes up, save the file, open a new one, save that, reopen the old one and copy/paste again. It's annoying but it's a great program for edits, recolours and pixelling with 256 colours in general.
Ah thanks now I know. I also upgraded to RMXP and i seem to not get any errors with that.
