Here's one more interesting.
They were doing a study of isolation on monkeys, led by a guy named Harry Harlow (during a time when the popular theory was that kids should not be given love because it would spoil them).
Not coincidentally, the first animal rights group was founded by someone who worked under the guy who lead these experiments. Here's what they found.
So what does this tell us? That these "caring loving" parents probably should have neglect charges filed against them.
Also, at about 1:48 did someone just go down on that kid?
The final kid is not even autistic, they're just giving her a label so they can control her. i.e. "You're autistic so you have to repeat lessons over and over because you don't behave and don't value our stupid grade system." That's what the fuck she's doing in special ed, the teachers don't like her rebelliousness, so they're dumbing her down.
Is Everyone on the Autism Spectrum?

Yea.

No monkey has died during isolation. When initially removed from total social isolation, however, they usually go into a state of emotional shock, characterized by ... autistic self-clutching and rocking. One of six monkeys isolated for 3 months refused to eat after release and died 5 days later. The autopsy report attributed death to emotional anorexia. ... The effects of 6 months of total social isolation were so devastating and debilitating that we had assumed initially that 12 months of isolation would not produce any additional decrement. This assumption proved to be false; 12 months of isolation almost obliterated the animals socially ...

Apparently autism is quite broad, and having it doesn't necessarily mean you are mentally disabled.
I actually found out I had asperger's recently, a form of autism. I have difficulty focusing on tasks and sometimes space out, but am I completely unaware of my surroundings and jumping around making derp noises all day? No, and I kind of feel like the classification for autism is a little TOO broad.
By the way, that kid around the 5 minute mark's problems more apparently stem from lack of discipline rather than a mental disorder.

I can't give you the benefit of the doubt, or take you seriously, when you post videos on youtube of you popping your ingrown toenail zits. And not just one video, but several!
Three of my cousins are autistic. One is extremely so - one of the worst cases in Australia - so forgive me if I don't subscribe to the 'myth of the myth' when it comes to autism.
And no, his mother hasn't locked him away or shunned him at all. She opted to keep him with her even though he throws fits, breaks windows with his head, attacks her and anyone else he feels gets too close at the wrong time, eats everything in the fridge if it's not locked and can't communicate beyond grunts and squeals. Initially we thought he was deaf as a baby but no: autistic.
My other cousins are very mildly autistic. As they got older, with support and help, they got better. One had an almost perfect memory when it came to things he liked (in this case Pokemon. He'd remember weights, heights, numbers, stats, EVs, moves... everything about them. And bugs. He loved bugs.) but as he got older it slowly faded. He's still quite good with remembering things he loves but his social skills have gotten a lot better.
The third was even less than the second, as while he aged and the closer he got to people, the better he got. He still has his moments when he needs to go to a quiet room and just stay away from people for a while, but he's mostly well-adjusted and used to living with it.
So, yeah, the so-called 'myth' of autism can go fuck itself.

The "myth of autism" is like the "myth of depression", it's easy for someone outside of it to sit there and think "hey, I feel down sometimes too! Everyone must have depression! Pull yourself together, I deal with it OK."
My stepson is Aspergers. Low-functioning, but the biological father is highly abusive, including sexually, and has legal custody. My wife is dead, and I have no legal ability to save this child from this terrible situation. The autism developed after vaccination. Some brain damage medically noted.
My opinion: don't post topics like this and then immediately take devil's advocate role. It's trolling disguised as academia.
@Bulmabriefs144: Yes, our schools have a policy of medicating students that don't conform. Their favorite fallguy illnesses are ADHD (which, in my opinion, is the the illness that is truly fictitious) and Autism (Which should only be applied to people with real developmental problems, but for convenience is being applied to anyone the establishment doesn't like).
