SOME QUESTIONS ABOUT RM

Hi. I don't have RPG Maker yet, but I am interested in purchasing it and maybe make my own game. I'm not sure if this is the correct section, forgive me if it's not. Anyway, before I actually start my project, I wanted to ask a couple of questions.

1. Is it possible to make a regional conquest game with RM, sort of like Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Crusader Kings 2?

2. If the answer is yes, is it hard or extremely hard to make?

3. If it's possible, then I assume someone else has done it before. Could you recommend me (good) games of that genre made with RM?

4. I have 0 experience in programming. What can I do to pick up the skills necessary to make a games that other people would actually want to play?

5. At a glance I've seen some sort of an art designer/artists clique on this site. Is there a writer's clique in this community? I'm a writer by profession, it has always been a dream of mine to write for a game. Since making games is not really a thing where I'm from (Malaysia), I suppose I should start from scratch.

Please go easy on me, thanks.

This could probably go in Introductions or Help forum.

It might be possible to make that sort of game, but with little
to no experience it would be very difficult. The learning curve
would be too high. Start small.

RPG Maker VX Ace might have the "easiest" user interface for
beginners. Easy being that it will still require a lot
of time to learn. For a game like yours you would need to
learn Ruby or find a script that's similar to your game type.

I know from experience that there exists a script for tactical battles in VX Ace. I don't exactly know much about it, nor do I know what it's called, but it exists. A google search or something could probably lead you to it.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The way I learned to make games people want to play is to make games people don't want to play and then get as much feedback as possible on them. Changing and improving them in response to the feedback, and then getting more feedback, many times.

You can definitely post your writing in the Creative Corner forum section, which has lots of topics about drawing, pixel art, music, writing, and anything else creative.

If you want to do a one-time conquering thing, where once you conquer it is permanently yours, then that can be done with in-game switches and variables. If you want to have a contested region where you have multiple factions fighting over the area, then your options are scripts or an improbable amount of in-game events (which would likely result in some frame rate loss depending on how many are run at once.
I definitely think it's possible. People tend to rely on Ruby scripts because Ruby is powerful and versatile, but it's not necessary. Just ask anyone who's made a customized RPG Maker 2003 battle system, before ruby scripting was implemented into the series.

With some creativity and a basic background in programming, you can do practically anything, with or without scripts. It might take some time for your brain to adjust, but once it does, it won't be able to stop coming up with ideas.

It's best to experiment for a little while just to get used to the language of game making. There'll be a lot of challenging problem solving, which becomes like a game in and of itself.

I think RPG Maker is primarily sold as a toy for would-be developers, because making a game is often more entertaining for the creator than the game is fun for a potential audience.
