Yeah, holy shit. Though I'm not too surprised. Since Starcraft 2 came out, Diablo 3 was going to be definitely next. Anyway I remember being addicted to Diablo 2 for a straight month as a kid. Some of my friends still play it once in awhile to lan it up. Hope they keep the isometric style with 3D graphix.
And yes I did stay up all night-morning F5ing the mysterious image on the blizzard main page to see what the evolving splash screen would uncover, just to tell my friends over msn "I FUCKING TOLD YOU SO"
I'm going to bed.

# "Potions are still in the game, they're just not as core an element. So there's a new health system here. Wilson says he actually tried a Halo-style shield system with regenerative health, but didn't put that in because it encouraged players to leave combat. Didn't want to implement a WoW-style health which encourages players to drink and creates downtime when out of combat. Wilson wants the health system to ensure combat, which is health globes were implemented."
# One health pot restores all players in co-op.
# Enemies can miss and get weapons stuck in scenery or world.

If my barbarian can put all his skill stats into Jump Attack again, I'll play this game. :D So fun to jump around slaughtering demons while friends are still traversing their way from bridge to hellish bridge. >=)

Haha... that reminds me of my "Jump barb" fest in college.
A group of around 6 of my nerd clique all made Jump barbarians. It was freaking hilarious... a bunch of leaping idiots killing stuff.
Anyone remember when you or your friend got ahold of a hacking program and started doing crazy shit like spawning a million diablos every time you killed something?
One of the biggest moments in video games where everything seemed so pointless.

Yeah, I did that eventually. It was hilarious. We had godlike armour and weapons, when we attacked it would cast lightning, and when we got hit meteor showers, ice shock waves and we'd leave fire trails everywhere we ran. Hahahahahaha
I can't wait to be Super Jumpy Man again.

author=Darken link=topic=1423.msg22245#msg22245 date=1214705237Actually the D3 site stated 5 classes, wich disappointed me, I was hoping they'd really grind in a lot of classes, all the way back from d1 up, plenty of great classes between the prior games-warrior,rogue,sorcerer,monk,paladin,barbarian,amazon,sorceress(kinda the same as sorcerer with the new male female thing), necromancer, druid, and assassin.
From developer interviews..

Last i checked thou, they only have Barbarian for comeback up, and the witchdoctor a new class that I'm fairly certain is replacing the necromancer due to his skill setup and things like 'zombie wall'.
(Diablo 1 was the first game that I actually got addicted to, like bad, 3days of strait play on the weekends no sleep. Then i pretty much mastered lvl 80 in a day in Diablo 2, cant wait to see what D3 will hold :-D)
...This is the game to save money for. I will get this as soon as it comes out whenever that may be... I was scared that Diablo 3 would NEVER get made. Thanks you Blizzard!
And as far as I'm concerned, as long as I can max out Frenzy as a Barb. again, I am happy. Time to remake Tiras (That was the name of my Diablo II Barb... what can I say)

Yeah, I've never played any of the older Diablo's. I've always wanted to. I was never old enough to buy it on my own. I'll be sure to pick this one up. Although, not to be a killjoy, but they still haven't even come out with SCII (waiting as patiently as possible) So for them to actually get Diablo 3 out.. well... it's gonna be a LONG time for that to happen.
OH MY GOD!!! So excited! I love the physics, they add such a nice touch.

I think the most impressive on these videos are the animations (when the bosses are rising or dying, blood everywhere yaaaaaaar) and of course the abilities. I'm a little bit deceived by the graphics, especially for the main characters, not really detailed (even if the camera is far from them...).
Anyway I'm a fan of Diablo 1, I was deceived by D2 (zero fear), I hope this one will be freaking again. :D

The graphics look great to me. I don't think the characters need to be incredibly detailed when the camera is typically out as far as it is. The outside environment was awesome, loved it.
Oh, and it sounds like Matt Uelman is doing the music again, and it sounds like he was given an orchestra to record. Very awesome.

Many people have said the graphics are too colorfull and WoW-like. Personally I don't really care, but they do have a point that it breaks Diablo's dark atmosphere. I mean seriously, you can see a fucking rainbow in one of the shots.
