If your an old man like me you'll remember the days when children's shows used to be decent. Yeah, we used to make fun of kids in school who still watched this when they were in grade 5. But seriously this show is the bomb.

Cookie Monster, because in a world of politeness and learning, having someone who exists strictly to oppose the status quo was cool before it was cool.

Also, the numbers coming up from the sidewalk and the stairs and out of walls and all that blew my mind as a child. That and Barney's magical bag of pipe-cleaners and Elmer's glue are two of the things I attribute to my interest in artistic expression nowadays.

For me, it's Elmo all the way. He's such a demented little monster, very animated, tells it like it is, and almost always appears to be high on drugs.
