PLAYLIST EVENT! MAKE PLAYLIST, WIN $!
Posts
You may (or may not) have noticed a new addition to RMN: Play Lists! (Playlists? Which is the correct spelling?)
These are collections of games you can make on RMN. Kind of like play lists on Youtube, or Wish Lists on Amazon.
All gameprofiles should now have a link in their game-bar called Add to Play List. Clicking that will allow you to add that game to a play list or create a new one (with a description). This will allow you to make collection of games for any reasons, but maybe you like to have a group of games sorted into a category that you want to play later, or are playing now.
Do play lists have a point? Not really, but RMN will be able to use this information later on to help people find games (probably) or allow developers to see which games are like their own, or a myriad of other potential uses. While not fully realized yet, I still think play lists are a fun and exciting thing to have here on RMN! But it gets so much better if people use them, because then the web of interconnected games is strengthened (and maybe one day I will be able to implement an automatic 'You May Also Like...' feature!) - but only if people make play lists today!
Here is an example of a play list I made:
http://rpgmaker.net/users/kentona/playlists/39694/

It should look like this. If not, try refreshing. If it is still wonky, let me know and tell me what browser you are using.
You can find your Play Lists by clicking on the Play List icon in the top tab of your profile. You can find other people's playlists by clicking their username's above their avatar and clicking View playlists ie - http://rpgmaker.net/users/kentona/playlists/
THE CONTEST ::..
Make a good, creative play list of at least 4 games and post that list in this topic. I will check them out, select the top 8 or 10 or so (in my opinion) and put them in a poll. We will then vote for the best one, and the winner will get $25 in Steam purchases, courtesy of RMN (so I will buy $25 worth of game(s) on Steam and gift them to you. Requires a steam account and friending me. You can find me in the RMN Steam group). Cohesiveness, creativity, a good collection of games, and a good description is what I am looking for. You can submit multiple play lists if you like. Deadline is next Monday, noon Saskatchewan time (-6 UTC)

I'll give it a try. Just as an excuse to force me to look into new games that I have overlooked due to my current situation ... Perhaps I'll find out that some developers have been to no good!
I was originally going to use the playlist feature to showcase what I was currently playing and pending reviews for but seeing more of what you can do with this feature is kind of intriguing. I might play around with it some more and see what I can do. No promises, though.
Got one...

I wonder how you can make a playlist creative or intriguing, but I'll give this a shot.
EDIT:
Mario and More Mario
Decided to make a playlist that puts all of the collaborative SMBX games together. Moon Base counts, right?

I elected to base my playlist on my history as a game designer, and create a "Vaporlist" if you will. I plan to complete the games in the list, but I'll probably never do it.

This is also due to the fact that I'll be working away for the next year and then have schooling and such, so there's not gonna be much game playing for me.

I made two. And, as usual, I went all out. >.<;
The Best of the Classics
Games that you should play at least once. Not all the same genre, but worth checking out as the best of Yesteryear's games. Those classics which inspired, delighted or inflamed our desire to create.
Quirky Creations
Odd games in all shapes and sizes. These are interesting bites of code and eventing, each quirky and interesting in some way. Not your typical RPG fare.

Sweet! This is the perfect way to keep track of games for my Extra-Life event in a couple weeks. I added games that were suggested in the thread, and stuff from my subscription list.
I may not be able to get to all of them, but here it is:
Extra-Life 2013 Playlist

Extra-Life 2013 Playlist
I made a playlist of games I'm playing or am going to play.
I always say to myself "I want to play that game," but then can never
remember what games I wanted to play.

I have my own version of the Best of the Classics playlist (no, I didn't copy the title from Liberty!).
Greatest RPGs Completed
The greatest RPG Maker RPGs that I have completed (in my humble opinion). I highly recommend these games. They are definitely worth trying out at least once.
EDIT: How do you remove a game from a play list? There seems to be no option to remove a game (from the default playlist, anyway)...

So here we go!
Games that make me squee
Notable Commercial Games (can't be bothered right now)

Hey can I say if I want a particular game Like say legend of heroes trails in the sky which will be release in steam on winter 2013.
And that is what I wanted. my dream Playlist.
Computer related games
Japanese School YAY
Wrost game (to make this fair I also include future helper and the seven tower to the list)
Dead games (great game that were long in hiatus or consider dead/cancelled)
While all the other playlist is completely random. Dead game is in fact a list of great incomplete games that were in long undefined hiatus or consider as cancelled. This list help to remind developer that their game is good and need to work on it until completion.

hahahaha whoops. I removed the link to edit playlists when I 'sexified' them. I'll add that back in.

There were 2 users with square brackets in their names that were screwing things up! Fixed.
No Uchioniko under "Japanese school backdrop, YAY!", jormar? Then again, I guess I should be glad somebody tagged any of my games, really.
Er, anyway, my humble entry.

I will not make a playlist.
Instead I'll strive to get on one!
Maybe.
Hopefully.
Probably not.
