DIMENSIONAL TEARS (FORUM RPG)
Posts
Dimensional Tears Forum RPG
This is a forum RPG where you decide everything you do, and where 'I' Decide everything that happens.
Create your character: You can be anything from a fishman to a robot to a starfish for all I care, just not something that's overpowered! (Like a 50 ft stone golem whose mere steps cause earthquakes.)
After you create your character, think up a passive ability. This is something you do not use, but something that can help you out. IE: A poison immunity or the ability to breath underwater for a longer period of time.
Then, you think of one Active Ability, this is something you activate at any time. However you can only use it a certain amount of rounds based on what it does. This can be anything from a weak magic attack to techniques to in-depth analysis of a situation! (Info Grab)
The way damage and looting and, basically, everything is decided is by dice roll.
If you Role: 1: You pretty much screwed that up so bad you hurt yourself!
2:You failed miserably and the enemy/hazard reacts!
3:Neutral, you didn't really fail but you didn't succeed either.
4:You done did good! You have a moderate success on your hands!
5:Amazing! This worked out far better than you expected!
6:Amazing, this worked out pretty great, but unfortunately something else got damaged, and that's not as good.....
The Stats that are affected by role is:
Stealth: How well you sneak
Combat: How well you fight!
Sub Categories (Variations in boost for combat)
Analysis: How well you can perceive a situation!
Looting: How much loot and how good it is!
Other: This is basically oddjobs such as Alchemy or raft-building.
Chose one of these you want to automatically get a +1 for(this lasts forever or until you get cursed), or choose to get a +2 for 7 rounds! (7 IS a lucky number) however you must also chose one that'll be at -1 for the 7 rounds as well.
A +1 adds a 1 to your role. For example, if you role a 4(moderate success), you'd get a 5 (Great success!).
However if you role a 5(Great success!), you do not get a 6 no matter how many +1s you have. If you get a 6, you stay at a 6(Great success +Damage to something).
After this, say what your starting equipment is (Weapon, Armor and 1 accessory) and where you want to appear in the land of:
Kanora
Once you decide where, I'll tell you what in the world is around you! You could literally appear ANYWHERE!
EXCEPT: Izzigo City & Factory, Karro City & Mine, Tynoar City & Mine
Now you are wondering what your goal is, and so I'll tell you.
ESCAPE: You've gotta get back to your own dimension, wherever it be, for you are fading away! After 500 Rounds, you'll fade away into non-existence. SO you have plenty of time, just don't go dickin' around!
Player Vs Player is allowed, but it's definitely not smart (Unless you really want to)
There'll be a Karma Gauge: This is basically what type of allies you can obtain.
EXAMPLE IF YOU'RE CONFUSED:
You may join after you die, but you start over! It'll be fine early on, but later.....
Any questions, please ask!
Other than that, join up! Please.
I'm lonely.

Well, since NO ONE'S PLAYING RMN ISLAND ANYMORE (I completely blame Gourd_Clae for this) I guess I'll participate and see what my horrible decisions get me into. (plus I'm bored and have really been wanting to play a forum game.)
Is there like, magic and stuff? I'm assuming there is...
Wes (such an original name) the HUMAN (forgot that) Fire Mage.
Passive Ability:Flying powers Immunity to Silence (I want to be able to SPEAK in this one). Active Ability: Fire Magic (obviously).
I have a Knack for Combat. +1 Combat!
Equipment: Short Sword (+1 Attack), Completely Uninteresting Clothing (+1 to... nothing! yay!), and a Ruby Ring ('cuz I'm flaming lol no, it actually gives me a slight resistance to Fire).
I refuse to be a stereotypical weakling mage
^ Is this good? ^
Edit: Oh, sorry, can't believe I forgot that. >.<
I shall appear at... Izzigo Volcano, 'cuz why not.

Yeah, now you just gotta tell me where you appear in the land of KANORA.
After that, if no one else joins I'll hop in and say what happens!
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

OK, why not?
Name: Kwimi
Species: Red Dragon. Approximately 12 feet tall, breathes fire, razor sharp claws, the whole bit. Has wings, but can't actually fly.
Active Skill: Fire Breath.
Passive Skill: Involuntary Shapeshifting. Kwimi never really got the hang of the shapeshifting thing, and can only do it accidentally when panicing. When stressed, afraid or threatened, Kwimi transforms into a small human girl, approximately seven years old. In this form she can't breathe fire or really do much of anything. This almost invariably happens at the beginning of any situation where it would be useful to be a dragon.
Knack: +1 Analysis. Specifically, she mostly notices threats that others don't. The usefulness of this knack is highly questionable.
Weapon: Dragon claws and teeth. Used in dragon form. +1 Attack.
Armor: Catholic schoolgirl outfit. Worn in human form. +1 Charisma (convincing people to do things in conversations).
Accessory: Teddy-bear-shaped backpack. Worn in human form. +1 Looting.

Name: Tiska
Species: Welve - think urban elven-folk, smaller and lighter than humans, but darker of skin and fairly plain-looking (bar the ears).
Active Skill: Triple Knives: Rolls the die three times and deals the average damage (rounded down) to the enemy. (For example, say I roll a 4, 6 and 1, the average would be 11/3, thus 3.6 - hence 3)
Passive Skill: Urban Camouflage: Can blend in with crowds and in towns quite easily to slip away. Not effective in wilderness areas or places that aren't built up - little villages, farmlands, etc.
Knack: Stealth +1
Weapon: Welven Triple Blades. Three small daggers used to stab and cut for when you gotta get outta dodge, fast. +1 Speed
Armour: Plain Cloak of Drab. A plain brown cloak enchanted to avoid notice. +1 Stealth
Accessory: Light Gloves. No bells on these! Makes picking pockets much easier. +1 Loot
Start: Izzago Lake
I probably need to change something, yeah? Let me know and I will. >.<;

Don't worry Liberty, you got everything right!
It is in fact LockeZ who has forgotten to say the general area he'll appear!
I'll still go about writing everyone's surroundings until Lockez States his start, then I'll type his up and post all of 'em!

Wait, we don't play together? Is this another one like Gourd's, then? That was so bad because it was just a bunch of people playing individual single-player games.
If it's like that then I will drop out.

If it's like that then I will drop out.
If by play together you mean everyone goes on their adventure together, then not exactly. I'll be sure to make everyone meet up rather quickly, but you all are from separate universes each transported against your will to this place, so naturally you'd be separated at first. After everyone meets up, you'd either choose to all work together or go your separate ways, it's your choice.
If you still wish to withdraw, then alright, but the less the lousy-er!
You did say something about Karma indicating who you team up with, too, so I'm guessing some people will be locked out of playing together due to 'differences of opinion' or something. So perhaps we'll also be able to pair up with 'like minds'.
Let's get it started in here!
ROUND 1
142857
(6) You get some bad with your great.
A scar-like portal rips open deep in the Zygogo Forest, it has wrought you and your glass jar in a small pond. With a dense, no doubt creature filled forest in front, a large mountain wall to your south-east to slightly northeast, the sheer rock wall towers above you. There appears to be a trail off to the south that winds up the mountain, as well as a trail through the forest. You monitor the cry of a pack of Ferall, sturdy wolf-like creatures ready to feast on flesh as well as a stone emitting power signals off in the woods. Do you take your chances with the mountain or the wolves? Or do you make your own path?
(+1 Analysis Bonus!) The pond water you're floating above is the perfect match to your now-stagnant jar water, the time is morning, about 9 AM and the wolves' cry is a success cry.
Items: x1 Glass jar(+1 Block)
x1 Silencer(+1 Stealth)
Status:You're a floating brain at the base of a mountain with a pack of Ferall nearby!
---
Tiska
(4) Lucky landing!
Just off the shore of Izzigo lake, a portal lacerates the fabric of space and out you plop, nearly 15 ft in the air above a shrine! You manage to tuck & Role and avoid any damage! The shrine on the shore of the lake is of a robed lady with two brilliantly shiny sapphires as her eyes. To your south is a river as well as to your north.
To your west is the rest of lake Izzigo and to your east is a swampland off in the distance. You wonder how you got surrounded by such water when you notice a group of about 5 blue-robed women walking towards you in a single-file line.
Do you run away, or ask them for help? After all, they appear to be human.
Items: Welven Triple Blades(+1 Speed)
Plain Cloak of Drab (+1 Stealth)
Light Gloves (+1 looting when pick pocketing)
Status: You're a rather slender Welve near a mysterious shrine.
Deciding on open friendliness or neutral caution.
-----
Wes
(2) Bad luck!
All you hear is the rumble of the volcano as you fly out of a dimensional portal! You take quite a tumble, luckily this only bruises you up a bit. However, you landed on a large pile of bones in a Drakor pit. Drakor are Baby dragons, usually mothered by a large dragon! They're all asleep, luckily for you, but it seems they were just sleeping in, for the dawn has only recently passed.
You've got to make your escape! There's one path out the mouth of the crater and another more steep-looking one up to the volcano's lip.
Items: Short Sword (+1 Attack)
Completely Uninteresting Clothing
Ruby Ring(Fire resistance)
Status: A bit bruised up, but the drakor in front of you are beginning to stir!
A Fire Mage!

However the karma gauge is universal, so you can use it as a way to decide if you like the methods or ideas of a person.

author=LibertyWell, I meant it as a way for deciding what certain NPCs would react to your presence. For example, someone with bad karma would more easily befriend demons while being locked out of villages by village guards.
You did say something about Karma indicating who you team up with, too, so I'm guessing some people will be locked out of playing together due to 'differences of opinion' or something. So perhaps we'll also be able to pair up with 'like minds'.
However the karma gauge is universal, so you can use it as a way to decide if you like the methods or ideas of a person.
Well, methinks I shall take the path out of the mouth of the crater and if those Drakors wake up before I can escape... well, I guess try to fight them with my sword and fire magic. I have a feeling this may not go very well for me...
I think I'll sign up if that's okay! And mercilessly kill Wes while playing, yes, sounds good~<3
Gourdy the Great; Eagleman!; Passive - Keen Eye - Stealthing doesn't fool me! Not a single important detail goes unnoticed. ; Active- Wing Burst - Not really able to fly, but my wings can be used to gain some crazy speed. (+1 Speed for next roll sound fair?) ; Knack- +1 Analysis: Equipment- Brass Feathers (+1 Attack), Steel Cape (+2 Block), Ruby Ring for slight fire resistance(Look me and Wes are twinsies!) Appear in the Esz Desert.

Quite!
This reminds me I've yet to say what everyone's Active skill cooldown is!
Jeroen_Sol:Teleport Cooldown:4 Rounds
Liberty:Triple Blade:3 rounds
WildWes:Firebolt (Fires a Bolt of Flame for damage) 3 rounds
All we need is for Jeroen and Liberty to take action!
You have a day and a half, then I'm going by without ya!
Same goes for every round, unless of course only one person gives their action.

Being out of my element in the wilderness, I decide to be cautious - especially when I've just been through some random accidental portal. Who knows, it may have been a trap of some kind. I follow the ladies at a distance, trying my best to blend into the environs around me.

I refresh the water in my jar with water from the pool, and try to check out the ferrals and their prey from closer by, hoping not to get seen by them.
ROUND 2
Wes
(2)This world just might not like you:
The four Drakor are lazily waking up, and you hasten yourself towards to the exit carefully. What you aren't careful about, however, is the bones lying all over the place, and manage to snap one in half with a loud *CRACK* sound. The Drakor Waken instantly in fear as they see a delicious looking human but 7 feet away from it's only exit. One of them charges at you, spitting fire right in your face! Luckily your Ruby Ring activates and the flames dissipate as they near.
The Drakor Lunges at you, and you dodge with ease, landing a decisive strike in the heart! The Drakor lets out a shrill shriek as the other 3 cower and back off.
You think this the perfect time to escape when you feel a dangerous heatwave smack you in the face! No sooner do you start to sweat when a Giant dragon rounds the volcano and eyes it's dead baby! You've got to act fast, Dragons are no pushovers!
Items: Short Sword (+1 Attack)
Completely Uninteresting Clothing
Ruby Ring(Fire resistance)
Status: Imminent death is staring at it's dead baby!
A Fire Mage!

Tiska
(6)
You spy the group walking towards you in the distance and you break into a run out of the shrine, but not before you trip over some roots and twist your wrist!
That'll making pickpocketing with your right hand all the more difficult! (-1 Pickpocketing with right hand(does not affect the loot you get))
After quickly recovering you sneak through some tall grass away from the shrine and around the Blue-robed women, placing you downwind and behind them, two advantages you feel comfortable with. The women arrive at the shrine you'd ran from and seem to be in prayer. Perhaps the shrine is of some sort of deity?
Either way, they leave some blue cloth and a jug of something at the shrine. Just as they get up to head back the way they came, a glitter catches your eye just beneath you, and you see a shiny stone. It seems to be made of glass with water trapped inside. Needless to say, you pick it up and place it in your pocket. Do you investigate the shrine more and maybe take their offerings, or continue following the women who've no clue of your existence to perhaps find a village.
Items: Welven Triple Blades(+1 Speed)
Plain Cloak of Drab (+1 Stealth)
Light Gloves (+1 looting when pick pocketing)
Odd Stone Filled with water (???)
Status: You're a rather slender Welve near a mysterious shrine
You've twisted your right hand wrist! -1 pickpocketing, better fix this up!
-------
142857
(3)
With your portable induction tube you suck up some cool, crisp, and refreshing spring water. Needless to say you're refreshed and more alert!(+1Analysis of surrounding for 3 rounds) Quietly floating thanks to your silencer, you sneak through the woods and find a pack of Ferall Mutilating a carcass of a large, flabby beast. This beast is a Gyor, a giant domesticated animal with layers of fat all over it's body. The Ferall are enthralled by the blood and fat and take no notice of your scentless glass case. They'd only recently killed it, for the beast's breaths are only just now slowing down. What'll it be? Gyor Nutrients and dead Feralls? Or an open brain-case and smarter Feralls? Or perhaps a different, more unusual course of action?
Items: x1 Glass jar(+1 Block)
x1 Silencer(+1 Stealth)
Status:You're a floating brain in the forest with a pack of Ferall nearby!
--------
Gourdy the Great
(2)Could of been worse.
A cry from an unknown being erupts as does the dimensional portal you are shot out of! You face-plant the ground and are slightly dizzy as you look up. You're in the middle of a really hot desert, though it's more of a wasteland what with no sand and only cracked dirt here and there. It's completely dry everywhere you look and flat as the ocean! To the north are mountains taller than you could imagine, and everywhere else is desert. You do a few 360s before you spy bellowing smoke from the north, as well as an unusual amount of unexplained holes to the east. What'll it be?

Items: Brass Feathers (+1 Attack)

wait wait when did GOURDY get a Ruby Ring? How am I gonna have roast eagle now? Oh well, I have bigger problems at hand...
I'm starting to wish I was wearing something other than Uninteresting Clothing... I think I'll shoot a fireball at it and run! And if worse comes to worse... I'll make a brave attempt at slaying a dragon, though only if I HAVE TO.
