The 2013 nomination period has closed and the voting has begun! Choose a nomination from each category to cast your votes.
Voting closes on January 21st, 2014
At the end of the year, all the nominations are tallied up and a voting period occurs for the top nominations in each category. A game required 2 nominations in a category to be eligible for voting, for games in 2013. (The system isn't perfect, so if you see a game in there that shouldn't be, let me know and I can fix it manually).
What are the Misaos?
The Misaos are an annual award event given to indie games made in the RM community. 'Misaos' is the general name for the awards such as 'Best Atmosphere', 'Most Technical Prowess' or 'Game of the Year'. You can liken it to a "People's Choice" award, as the games are nominated and voted upon by the community-at-large.
Why are they called 'Misaos'?
In aeons past, the Misaos were organized and run by the good folks at #rm2k on irc.dynastynet.net and hosted on The Queen's Court website. iishenron (a.k.a. FinalDragon) came up with the name based on a character from one of his favorite animes: Rurouni Kenshin. Specifically, the character Makimachi Misao. The name has stuck, despite the fact that every year people wonder where the name Misao comes from (and they say that the name is silly). For better or for worse, this is what the awards are known as. Besides, the less-than-serious nature of the name suits the less-than-serious nature of the awards!

Pom Gets Wifi isn't a bad game or anything, but the fact that it got nominated for just about every single Misao except for Most Promising Demo is kind of ridiculous.
When Pom Gets Wii Fi wins it all there will be a huge rage in the community. But I'm still predicting a big win for it.
Also notice how Ketona put a picture of Pom on the Misao poster. The picture is at the top right of the tower (Like the most easy picture to see.) It's like a conspiracy :)

The only reason it didn't get nominated for demo is most likely because games flagged as complete can't. Otherwise I'm sure someone would have nominated it despite it not being a demo.
It kinda boggles the mind how people nominated it for things like technical prowess and the design aspects, too.
Here's hoping more votes from the members who frequent the site will set things to rights. Maybe.

Hmm, Homework Salesman is marked as completed, but I can vote it as Most Promising Demo...? Unless the 4 Most Promising Demo nominations for Homework Salesman are made before Homework Salesman was marked completed...?
episodic games are kind of in a weird place - its possible that that could be causing the discrepancy. Also I manually removed Pom from its Most promising demo nomination :\
Guess the 2013 Misaos would be a complete flop if Pom gets every award... >< But hey, it's a new year. Only good thing is Pom can't get nominated this year.
It's looking okay so far this year. Pom is going to win a few of the categories, but it looks like in the end it'll only get what it deserves (assuming more people vote)

I didn't play many games that came out here last year like touhou wandering souls,okurete sumimasen which has 2 out of 3 episodes and zombie survivor x,last year i also played lore of lorewyn,atler a.i.l.a genesis and i miss the sunrise but those games aren't from 2013.
I usually play german rpg maker games also but i won't mention those though my favorite in 2013 is definativly a german rpg maker game otherwise i am currently playing exit fate.

Incidentally, we have an idea to prevent these all-category nominations in the future, so if another sweep occurs, hopefully it will be the last.

Oh, I didn't notice. Well I guess Pom is getting nothing from me. Not saying it's the worst game ever of course, but there's a lot of games that have much more to them then Pom.
