The 2013 voting period has closed and the results are in! We had a relatively stellar year with 1663 total votes - the most since switching to this new format a few years ago.

What are the Misaos?
The Misaos are an annual award event given to indie games made in the RM community. 'Misaos' is the general name for the awards such as 'Best Atmosphere', 'Most Technical Prowess' or 'Game of the Year'. You can liken it to a "People's Choice" award, as the games are nominated and voted upon by the community-at-large.
Why are they called 'Misaos'?
In aeons past, the Misaos were organized and run by the good folks at #rm2k on irc.dynastynet.net and hosted on The Queen's Court website. iishenron (a.k.a. FinalDragon) came up with the name based on a character from one of his favorite animes: Rurouni Kenshin. Specifically, the character Makimachi Misao. The name has stuck, despite the fact that every year people wonder where the name Misao comes from (and they say that the name is silly). For better or for worse, this is what the awards are known as. Besides, the less-than-serious nature of the name suits the less-than-serious nature of the awards!

Lunar Wish: Misaos of Fate, Pom Gets Misaos, Misaos Salesman, Reincarnation -Misaos of War-, and The Misaos Drop were the consistent contenders this year, and won multiple awards each.
I'm proud to see that the results have variety, and the games that won their respective categories actually deserved it... I think.

Wow, that Game of the Year result is something of an upset. I'm glad Homework Salesman won for gameplay mechanics, that one is VERY well deserved. Congrats to the winners!

LMAO Congratulation to Lunar Wish. I honestly thought Pom was going to win, so I was just like "Meh, we all know who the winner is." I was really surprised! :P
I still remember the 1.5 star review that bashes the game's story. XD

Congrats to all the winners! I'm glad it wasn't a total sweep and things were rather evenly distributed somewhat. There were quite a few surprises though.
