OPINION ON MY CUSTOM ART?

I don't much care or the default RPG Maker VX Ace furniture, so I thought I'd make my own. It's a bit more in the XP style, but not quite. What do you think? Does it look Ok? How can I improve it?
These are just some examples, I wanted to try some simple things before getting too ahead of myself. (That green thing is a potted plant gone wrong).

The potted plant suffers from pillow shading. You need to contrast the shades better (dark red needs to be a darker red so there's a visible difference between red and dark red etc.). Don't use varying opacity in pixel art, use a 100% pencil tool.

Also this is not game design.

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

The plant would be improved a lot by using two or three shades of green instead of just one. Don't create any sort of pattern, just give each green pixel a random color, that'll make it look like there are tiny leaves and branches overlapping.
The lamp looks too big to be a desk lamp but too short to be a floor lamp, unless your sprites are much bigger than the RTP sprites. If it's supposed to be a floor lamp, which I'd guess is the case since it's almost as tall as a person, then it needs a much smaller lampshade; that lampshade is so big that the bottom of the lampshade is waist-high. If it's supposed to be a desk lamp I'd halve the height, halve the width, and then also delete half of the visible part of the pole.
Keep scale in mind when making graphics. RTP characters are chibi proportioned, so scale is never a perfect science, but generally speaking most tiles in RMXP are made based on the assumption that characters' height is accurate and they're just way fatter than normal. So a tile is about two and a half to three feet. Whereas in RMVX the tiles are the same size as in XP, and the sprites are the same width as in XP, but much shorter. Which makes your life as a spriter harder, and also make it so any time they interact with anything it gets really stupid looking because they can't reach up to the top of the table they're standing in front of. (I tend to use RMXP sprites even when working in VX Ace. They're about the maximum amount of chibi I can tolerate.)

OK, I took in mind what you both said and made some more:
I'm not crazy about the lamp or side table but the chair, I think, turned out decent. Any better?
