GOOD CHIPTUNES

I'm looking for really good chiptune music. Something along the lines of this:
I've been searching sites like Soundcloud and chipmusic.org, but I don't find much(if anything) of this caliber. I would prefer original works but if there's any good console game music that fits, post that too. One game that comes to mind is Solstice.
Silver Surfer too. Naturally, because they are composed by the same guy.
One very interesting thing I've found is http://www.chipmusic.com. This has to be the coolest website I've ever seen. I haven't figured out how to access any music on there, but it's basically a virtual OS(Amiga or Commodore I think) with all kinds of fun things to play with. Some day I hope to have a site that works like this.
So please share your songs, artists, or sites to find top notch chiptune music! Only the best.

Cool, I'll check them all out some time. I looked up a few of the bold ones and they are definately what I'm looking for.
I didn't know them by name, but I've heard the music of Anamanaguchi from Scot Pilgrim game. Retro City Rampage is another game with epic chiptunes.
Great game too :D Full of refrences to old games and movies. The main story is basically a parody of Back to the Future. They even had the Trailer Park Boys!
The problem is that there's too much out there. I often get sick of browsing songs when 80-90% of them don't suit my tastes.

Some of the artists that I listen to from time to time have been mentioned, but I want to go ahead and put the Swedish chiptune group Slagsmalsklubben out there, definitely check some of their work if you haven't already.
Try this: http://freemusicarchive.org/genre/Chiptune/. Some cool tunes here.
//edit: Also try checking Newgrounds' Audio section. There are several cool tunes as well.

RoccoW is a fave of mine
Basically anything by Jeroen Tel
I liked this one.
This is my ringtone.

If no one's mentioned him. Kevin on youtube pretty much has the market cornered on chiptunes. He has loads of original chiptune compositions from a variety of game genres. Most people know him for Megaman Unlimited though.
There's also Gryzor87. I know him for Maldita Castilla's OST which used an emulated Yamaha sound chip for authentic arcade-y goodness.

I had my eye(ear?) on his work since hearing his stuff from your space game. Although I didn't like his other stuff as much. You pretty much picked his best songs for your game.
I'll be checking out all these suggestions. Thanks folks. Keep em coming.
Have you tried listening to some of the Homestuck albums? I'm serious, they've got some pretty rocking chiptunes if you know where to look. I think this album has the most chiptunes on it but I'm not sure. Here are some specific tracks:
Anbroids (Volume 9)
Showtime (Original Mix) (Volume 1-4)
Explore (Volume 1-4)
Carefree Victory (Volume 1-4)
Doctor (Volume 1-4)
Doctor Remix (Volume 5)
Heir Transparent (Volume 6)
(I really like Doctor remixes okay)

I'm kind of shocked you haven't heard of it, since it seems to be everywhere on the internet nowadays. To point of complaint, even. I used to read it but checked out sometime in 2011 due to the story getting too confusing. The music for it has always been good, though. I've been listening to it a lot over the past few days.
I assumed it was a band hah
Oh ok, I think I've seen that before. Doesn't look like my my kind of thing. I didn't hear any music though.

I'd hate to brag, but I'm doing some chiptune work under the name of Ch1p M45t3r. Check my YT channel (with name mentioned in last sentence), if you like some of these, go ahead and use them. Most of these loops perfectly, though I'd recommend asking me, as I can export into ogg/wav/mp3 so you won't need to record it with Audacity and then cut until it loops.
If you don't like any in particular, but like my style, maybe I could do some commission.
Here's chip I am kinda proud of (really like how it turned out), although it doesn't loop:

Honest feedback; it's a little too simple and repetitive. Not enough variety in sound, seems like each instrument uses the same sample. And there's no rhythm(drums). It doesn't match the level I'm looking for, but to be fair I'm setting the bar extremely high.
I'm not into chiptune that much, but I'm reaaaaaaaally digging Maxo at the moment.
Especially this friggin' tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune.

That song isn't terrible. A little "sketchy" and the voice track is kinda lame. This song is better https://soundcloud.com/maxoelectronic/chalktopia-chipmix
I like that one too, but Tope Doge gets me because THOSE FRIGGIN CHORDS. I love it *because* it's "sketchy", in other words, I'm a big fan of experimentalism and jazz fusion. The way it ascends from the 1min point onwards is god-like.
Edit: Also, I made a couple of "chiptune-likes" but they're pretty terrible.
Here and here.
