HAVE YOU EVER COMPLETELY 100%ED AN ENTIRE GAME (IE: FOUND ALL ITEMS, SECRETS, ETC.)

So all of us here have completed a wide variety of games before in the past – and that in itself is quite the accomplishment already (especially for all those 50 hour+ RPG games that are out there)
- But how many of you have actually finished a game totally, like, all 100% of it? Probably not nearly as many as you’ve actually finished, huh?
So that’s what this topic is for. Just exactly how many games have you completed all 100% of it?
Now I’m not talking about games like Mega Man 2 were it had no secret bosses, levels or anything else towards that nature (the difficult mode doesn’t count as it doesn’t really add anything substantial towards it, besides increased difficulty), as those types of linear games don’t count; however, games that have any additional content, like extra bosses, items, or hidden stages that count towards some kind of a completion DO count. You know what I mean.
As for me, I’ve completed 100% of the following:
- Super Mario World (all 96 exits)
- Super Mario 64 (all 120 stars – although I had to use a guide with me for the last 20 or so that I couldn’t find on my own when I was younger)
- Star Fox 64 (all medals – even on expert, both Venom paths)
- Super Metroid (all 100%, although I still had to use a guide for some of the missiles and energy tanks that I couldn’t find)
- Super Smash Bros. Melee (all 51 event matches completed; trophies and characters unlocked)
- Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong’s Double Trouble (finally completed all 105% of the game last week on my very own - woot)
- Donkey Kong 64 (needed a guide, but managed to get all 251 golden bananas and everything else)
- Kirby’s Dream Land 2 (all rainbow shards and exits found on my very own)
- Kirby’s Adventure (all hidden exits and secrets found on my own)
- The Legend Of Zelda: Majora’s Mask (needed a guide, but managed to find all the masks, heart containers and items)
- Mega Man X - X4 (all heart tanks, upgrades and subtanks found)
- Diddy Kong Racing (all 47 balloons collected on both adventure modes; all characters and courses unlocked)
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head for now.
I've only ever 100%ed one game and that happened somewhat recently. I 100%ed Final Fantasy XIII-2, and I did it solely to get the secret ending after the sequel was announced. I'm a sucker for story content. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is having a similar effect on me, since many of the unlockables are additional hints about the story, so I'm collecting all of them, even though I'm normally not a completionist.
Based on the XBOX 360 Achievements / All Achievements:
The Elder Scrolls 3: Oblivion
Mass Effect 2
Fallout 3
I also believe that I found 100% of the stuff for the original Legend of Zelda for the NES.

-Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles. Collected all the Emeralds in every game. Have all the save states filled with every possible combination of characters with and without all Emeralds and all completed the game.
-Wario Land 3. Opened every treasure chest.
-Golden Sun; The Lost Age. Got both parties to max level. Equipped everyone with the most powerful items. Found every Djinn.
-Pokémon. Completed the PokéDex in Yellow, Crystal and Sapphire. Can add Pokémon Y to that list soon.
-Orcs Must Die! Completed every stage on both Normal and Hard on perfect rating, and got every achievement in the game.
Probably forgot to mention some, but these are the major ones for me.

Yup!
Dark Cloud - twice.
Okami - once.
FF7 - a few times
Breath of Fire II - there was only one thing we missed but because it's the worst minigame in the world and we did know where it was and how to do it and it doesn't give anything awesome and you need savestates to do the damn thing and it's almost impossible... I'm gonna count it as complete.
FF9 - yeap
Suikoden II - it took me forever and a day but yes. The issue with this one is that if you do one thing you can't do all the rest, so I could two playthroughs - one where I did the thing and the other where I did everything else, as clocked.
Terranigma - Yeah, boy~
I tend to have a completionist bent when I play games so more often than not I'll try my best to complete them to their limit.

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I generally try to 100% complete almost any game I play. I don't like the feeling of quitting halfway through a game. And if I do quit early, I'm probably gonna quit a long time before I beat the final boss.
I'll refrain from listing them, as I've been playing games for over twenty years and it would take me a long time to think of them all. I think the most recent ones I fully completed were Assassin's Creed 4 (every quest completed, every upgrade obtained, every collectible collected) and Final Fantasy Dimensions (every job mastered, every chest opened).
However, the new "thing" appears to be to make this impossible to do, by having thousands of micro-achievements, and making some of the tasks individually require a hundred hours of investment each, or whatever the fuck. Batman: Arkham City and Diablo 3 come to mind. This is stupid! It's a single player game with a storyline and a final boss; I am playing it in order to beat it. Let me fucking beat it! Don't make your game unbeatable. Stupid designers.
Edit: If I limit my list to only Final Fantasy games, I guess it's pretty managable.
I didn't 100% every aspect of every game, so I'll list what I did do. I never bothered to get maximally pimped stat growths in FF6 or max out a perfect blitzball team in FF10 for example.
FF4 - 100% items, 100% bestiary, level 99, max stats
FF4 DS - 100% items, 100% bestiary, 100% map completion, level 99, optimal ability inheritance via multiple playthroughs
FF5 - 100% job mastery, 100% items, 100% bestiary, level 99
FF6 - 100% items, 100% bestiary, all magic spells learned with all characters, level 99
FF7 - 100% mastered all materia, level 99
FF7: Dirge of Cerberus - 100% memory capsules
FF9 - 100% items, 100% abilities
FF10 - 100% sphere grid, butterfly catching, chocobo racing
FF10-2 - 100% quest completion
FF12 - 100% license board, 100% bazaar, 100% missions/marks, every item except Zodiac Spear
FF13 - 100% missions, 100% bestiary
FF13-2 - 100% fragments/missions, 100% endings
FF Tactics - 100% abilities
FF Tactics Advance - 100% missions, 100% abilities, 100% items
FF Tactics A2 - 100% missions, 100% abilities, 100% bazaar/items

I am not a completionist. Usually I finsh the storymode and get some collectibles. Most of my gaming percentages are around 85-90% and that is enough for me. Sometimes collecting everything feels more like a chore than fun and that to me is not the reason to play a game.
THat being said, I 100%ted most Zelda games, Assassin's Creed II (favorite AC game of mine) and AC Liberation HD as well as the last Tomb Raider. I also 100%ed ACIII Tyranny of King Washington, AC4 Freedom Cry and I am currently working on 100%ing ACIII in general.
Games like MegaMan or the old Castlevania (BEFORE Symphony of the Night) don't count obviously...

Suikoden 2 - I did this once and I don't plan on doing it again as much as I felt it was worth it.
Dark Cloud - Many a time~
Dark Cloud 2 - Once because Monica's armbands suck and I have to force myself to use them. Max money, maxed final weapons etc.
FFT Advance - All of the missions, items, abilities and special characters.
FFX-2 - 100% Missions

Like what EzekielRage said, I usually play the game for the story since I don't have the luxury of time to 100% everything and I'm more of a casual gamer rather than a hardcore or completionist gamer.
The only game I've ever hundred percent so far is my own game. XD

Like EzekielRage, I probably wind up within about the 80 to 90 completion mark. Usually I tackle the sides I want, and leave the others for completionists. Also, some games require you to play them multiple times to get everything 100%, or to try a different scenario, and I don't bother with that, either.
For example, mastering all Materia and raising/breeding chocobos? No thanks. Playing Final Fantasy X-2 twice to side with another faction? Probably not. I don't like to have to grind or work on an option for several hours, and I'm usually not a fan of New Game + or having to repeat a game once it's been beaten.
Games I did 100% complete, though:
Dragon Quest IV - for DS.
Wild Arms
Wild Arms Alter Code F
LoZ / Master's Quest - for NES.
Dragon Quest III - for GB.
Breath of Fire I

Super Metroid and Metroid Zero Mission, like, a billion times each at this point. If getting over 200% in Castlevania - Symphony of the Night counts toward this, Darigaaz, that would be another one.
Speaking of the Suikoden series, I've 100%ed them all (Tactics? Tierkreis? What are these games you speak of?) at least once. Except for maybe Suikoden IV. I've certainly gotten all the stars in that game , but I always get the same sequence at the end.

Why wouldn't it count. It's a lot easier even to finish 100% of games that don't have loads of collectibles!
I look at my steam achievements and I've achieved all of them in three games. Waking Mars, The Walking Dead and Thomas Was Alone.
...what do you mean it doesn't count...
Kirby Superstar + Ultra
Kirby's Return to Dreamland
Kirby's Adventure
Spyro the Dragon (120%... Lol)
Spyro 2 and 3
Megaman X-X3
Sonic CD (All timestones found, though I haven't bothered with the Xbox/Steam version achievements that much)
Sonic 3 & Knuckles
... Are all the games that I've gotten a 100% completion on. Not as much as some others in this thread have.

Ah, well, in that case most of the rpg's from NES would fit in my 100% completed category.

Jesus, LockeZ – U CRAZY!
Oh, and I forgot that I completed all 100% of Diddy Kong Racing for the N64!
I was just going through some of my old games the other day, and I completely forgot about this one. I originally thought that I didn’t finish all of the entire 2nd adventure mode but apparently I did, so that’s something. So I'm going to add it to the list.
Kirby Superstar/Amazing Mirror
Eversion
The Wonderful End of the World
Punch Out Wii
Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (NEVER AGAIN)
Super Smash Bros. Melee
No More Heroes 1/2
Paper Mario: TTYD (many times, in fact. I'm planning on 100%ing yet again soon!)
Super Meat Boy
Donkey Kong Country 2/3
And others I might have missed.

Complete lots, recorded on Backloggery. Haven't been bothered to 100% games these days, last enjoyable game I 100%'d was Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Pacifist playthrough was crazy hard.
