hello!! im very new to rpgmaker, since i only recently decided that i would try to make my own game, so im sorry if the questions i ask are a little dumb ahaha,,
anyway, i was wondering if there was a way to replace the sprites on the pause screens (like here) into portraits of the characters instead, like here and here (credit for the screenshots goes to wadanohara and the great blue sea)
atm its just showing the walkaround sprites when i pause the game but i want to change that, as mentioned above
please try to be as detailed as possible i really need all the help i can get ;v; thank you!!
EDIT: I FORGOT TO ASK LMAO but is there any place where i can find good pixelated fonts for rpg maker xp??? i'd really appreciate any kind of resource thank you :^)

RPG Maker XP? Man, that is the one engine in that series that I know of that doesn't do facesets. Well, it could probably be made to do them with scripts, but, yeah, I don't know what script-code would do it.

oh geez what
wow ok i guess i picked the wrong engine omg
thanks anyway!!! i'll see if i can use 2003 instead :^o
There's no reason to backpedal to 2003. D:
Using scripts is something you should definitely learn anyway, and it's not that hard.
(You'd probably have to use MORE if you worked in 2003 anyway, since it has less features than XP).
To have the portraits show up in the menus, you'll probably need a CMS (Custom Menu Script). They're easy enough to find, and there are lots of them.
For instance, in one of my old retired projects I used an FFVII CMS script.

(With this script, I believe you'll still see their sprites on the save screen though, but I'm sure you find one that works for you.)

ohhh i see!!! thats actually really helpful omg, i think maybe i can try to figure something out
i dont actually mind if it shows on save screens, its just the pause menu that really bothers me, but if anything i can try to change that too
thank you so much!! i was afraid i'd have to redo everything, but i see that itd be pretty tedious if i went back to 2003 :'^)
