My name is Michael and I happened to stumble upon this site when I was searching for Rpg Maker contests. I found the Game Name Game contest and decided to make it my first design contest to enter, wish me luck -fingers crossed-.
I have been making games for alittle under 3 years now but have designed many on paper since I was a wee-lad. Right now I'm trying to learn more about java for android development but am going to start to enter as many rpg maker contests as I can so I can beef up my portfolio.
Let's see here, I'm currently working on an rpg game by the name of Shadow's Destiny. It is proving to be a time consuming endeavor though, which I'm sure all game development is. I was thinking about trying to get a team together but am not entirely sure the best way of doing that.
Anywho thanks for reading this intro, I would have made it longer but I am at work so I may add more when I get home. See you all on the boards :)

Hey dude, welcome!
You're right about game dev - it can be a pretty long process. ^.^
As for how to gather a team, it's best to get your name out there with a few small games first - so people know who you are and what to expect from you. Also, raise your 'level' in the different skills you need, so that people know you won't just dump everything on them (helping them out with things if there's a rush needed or they're confused about something) and in case someone leaves it doesn't stop production.
There's usually a game creation contest on at some point and sometimes people will team up for them, so maybe then might be a good idea to reach out and make some connections, too. (There shouldn't be one too far off, actually. It's been a while since the last one.)
Just work and have fun and interact with the people in the community - that's the best way to make connections and meet new people. ^.^
