So I finally found some software to record my games for trailers and stuff. The software I got is CamStudio. I am having trouble with the convert to mp4 option and avi takes a ton of space. If anyone knows how I can fix it I would be grateful otherwise could you help me convert AVI to MP4?
Sorry I can't help. I use Camtasia Studio myself (and would really recommend it since it allows you to do sound, edit and import, as well as convert and upload).
That said, there's bound to be some video tutorials on youtube if you check.

You can record sound and mic with CamStudio and that last sentence was out of context, meant to erase it. I think I just have to download a codec or something to get it to convert to MP4, but if someone knows a software that can convert video types that would be even better.

When I used a trial of that program I had issues with it recording rpg maker when I played it in full screen, thus in my videos I had to play it in the smaller screen. (Does this problem go away with the full version or did I not understand how to use it?)
Um... I don't think their the same program considering this is 100% free with no buy options and the official site is different for each software. Also my graphics card doesn't support full screen for rpg maker(the resolution is to small I guess).
I use Windows Movie Maker to convert those 10gb recordings down to a manageable size. I tinkered with custom save settings to find a good balance that doesn't harm the video quality. Mostly reducing resolution and sound quality.
Well I finally found a software(freemake video converter) that can convert my 300mb videos(avi) to 400kb videos(mp4). I mean 300mb for a 30 second video is just unacceptable and also takes forever to upload.
Edit: This software keeps installing an add on to my browser, but if I prevent it the software won't load. The add on can't be disabled either, so I am back to looking for another FREE video converter and it was such a good program.
