NAME YOUR MAKER!

I know everyone uses a different maker, so I was wondering what maker do you use for your games and why?

For me its rm2k3 and unity. I still use rm2k3 because it forces me to work with what I have instead of creating new systems, which I end up doing in 2k3, but not nearly as much as I would on makers with more options.
RPG maker VX Axe Ace,
Because -reasons-.

RPG Maker VX Ace
It was the newest engine on the market when I got interested in doing this.

I primarily use Unity, or RMXP when I have to use RPG Maker for an event.
RMXP, RMVX Ace, Unity, and hopefully more in the future.
I like trying out different ones. They all have their pros and cons.

SMBX.

And I guess VX Ace and Game Maker when I get around to figuring out the latter's layout.
I use 2k/3 and Ace. I like them most, I guess.
RMVX Ace, because alot of people can't play RM XP anymore, otherwise I would still be using it.

I don't like the look of XP and I don't like the limitations of VX. I'm also not that good at using 2k3 so I guess VXAce is my last hope! Also I don't like XP's graphical style. The characters are too tall and the windowskins are ugly. 2k3 probably had the best windowskin/font but I love scripts too much and I don't want to eff around with DynRPG. I'm not that pro. Granted, I would love the tileset format of XP, with its unlimited tilesets on one map and the ability to choose your own passability for each tile, but I am also just familiar with VX Ace and I'm starting to make good games with it, so why change? Also I bought it from Steam so I may as well make the most of it.

Edit: Unity is in the plans for when I want to go pro.

RM2k3. It reminds me of all the RPGs I grew up with.
Game Maker! I've been mucking around with the free versions for years, and since its help file is actually helpful, I can usually manage to eventually figure out how to program things I want... unless it requires trig or calculus or any math beyond high school algebra.

I have XP, but I couldn't figure out Ruby enough to really get anything done.
Sim RPG Maker 95.
I'm probably the only still using it after the short "what's this? I'll try it" phase.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

I use RMXP, because it has the best mapping. Three layers and infinitely large tilesets.

It has poor eventing compared to the rest of the RPG Maker engines. But you have to choose your evils. I would rather hunt down scripts for the handful of event commands they left out of RMXP than use parallaxing for all my maps.

Plus, the battle system script I'm using was only ever made for RMXP. Nothing comparable exists for any of the other engines. I would have to make it myself. That sounds horrible. I don't mind coding some of the stuff myself as I need it, but if I'm going to be coding an entire battle system I'd better be getting paid for it.

(This is a much better topic than the typical "Which RPG Maker is best?" topic, so thanks for that.)
Started with XP, then went over to VX for some reason. I like working with limitations at times. They bring out the best in me, creatively. XD
RPG Maker 2k3 for me. Started out on it since it was easier to deal with (I was never that great with the coding language that XP used with the scripting) and it was the only maker available for free at the time (I'm sure I could've gotten XP or VX if I tried hard enough...though was VX even around 5-6 years ago?). Been using it since despite people trying to get me to go to Ace which would require me to redo the entire game in that engine, and fudge that noise at this point yo! If I ever DO make another game, MAYBE I'll try it in another maker since I know 2k3 won't be usable forever (nothing ever is), but that's if I ever do. After this game, not sure if I ever will seeing how ambitious I get with my own projects. ^^;;
I'm torn. On the one hand, XP is the maker I've used for a decade, and know most about. But I know in my heart VX Ace is a bit better (in some ways)... I can just never get around its mapping system though, which is awful. XP trumps it in so many ways.

...but then I also love 2k (never actually used 2k3 much) because you don't have the ability to make custom scenes as easily. Sounds weird, (and I appreciate people DO create some amazing event systems), but not being able to create an uber battle system from a scripting system means more time to spend making the actual game. I'd be much more likely to finish a game in 2k because there are less distractions. I wouldn't be coding extensive systems that end up unused or unnecessary, I'd be actually gamemaking.
Well, you could try anyways *glares at own game with all of its battle stuff* You could try...

2K and 2K3 are pretty much the same from what I can tell. What's different between the two, I'm not entirely sure, but they seem pretty much the same. : S

So basically we all want something with XP's mapping, 2k3's practicality, VX Ace's flexibility, Game Maker's functionality, and Unity's professionalism?

RPG Maker VX has all of those things plus more. It is the holy grail of game making engines. You better not mess with this baby. It's the Microsoft Vista of gaming... in other words, better than your wildest dreams.

I lol'd.

Anyway, Ace for me! Didn't get to use XP much but yeah the mapping seems much better. I hope Ace's successor adds back some of that functionality.
Two of my games started in 2007 used RPG Maker 2003, but before that I was playing around in RPG Maker 2000. I'm still working on those two games, but I recently had a breakthrough in understanding Ruby, so, provided I live long enough, I hope to make a game with RPG Maker XP as well.
