CONVERT VX PROJECT TO VX ACE?

The Humble Bundle event is currently running, so I thought I might as well get myself VX Ace - the maker itself is too expensive for me otherwise. After all, I'm just a small little schoolgirl.
Anyway, I was wondering if there is a way to 'convert' my VX project to VX Ace? I don't know if simply putting the folders into a VX Ace project will work, that's why I am asking. Could anyone help me out? =)

There was some changes to the database, such as custom formula for skills and attributing stats into classes rather than the characters to name a few examples. So, characters might not convert very well. Another thing to look out for is scripts. The differences between a script made for VX as opposed to VX Ace might be minor, but, even minor changes can make the difference between code working, and not working.
@Marrend: Thank you! Characters aren't a real problem since the game does not feature fighting. Is there a way to convert maps and events, though? That's my main problem. Scripts could be an issue, but if they are I'm certain I will find other scripts that work just as good.
I'm not really sure if there's a quick-and-easy way of doing map/event conversion, to be honest. However, I have this game where I copy-pasted the entire VX RTP tileset into it, made sure they were labeled as such in the filename, set up a new tileset in the project ("Classic VX"), set the mode to "VX Compatible", and basically went from there.
Actually, that's pretty much how this screenshot came into being.

@Marrend: Sounds pretty time-consuming... Maybe I'll just keep this project in VX in do all my new projects in VX Ace, then. But thank you really much for the help. =)
I coped a map from VX to VX Ace back in the days of the Japanese trial that didn't allow you to load a game. Just make a map in Ace, see what the map ID is, close your project, delete that Map###.rvdata2 from your game, copy your VX map and rename it to the same filename of the map you deleted (remember to change the extension too, VX maps are Map###.rvdata without the 2). I never tested it with events though but I don't think there were any changes on that front so it might work. When I did it it was with the same tileset in both games (in Ace I also set it to VX mode but that just affects how it draws some tiles).
Most scripts will be a wash, there are quite a few backend changes in Ace that would make it incompatible with many VX scripts without changing the scripts.
