Just curious, if i were to make a commercial game, what would be the best way to sell it digitally? On steam? Any other things people know about?

Still in the works! It was put on hold for some redesign but said redesign is mostly complete.

I'd say release on Desura first - it has really small barrier compared to Steam (no Greenlight-like process, game submission is served by automated system). Itchio and GOG are good places as well.

Then you should save for Greenlight fee and put it on Steam.
Best to sell indie games online:
GoG.com
Gamersgate (mostly for European players)
Humble Widget (embed on your own website)
Humble Store (harder to get into than just using humble widget)
Steam

If your game is really small scale and you are very unknown then it might be easier to get on the following (but sales usually won't be as high):
Desura
BigFishGames
IndieGameStand
rpgmaker.net

Oh, wait...
