SCREEN "TEARING" IN SOME RPG MAKER GAMES

Anbody know how to fix this? A recent example would be Skyborn for me.

When I walk around in this game then sometimes weird horizontal lines appear. I wish someone would know how to fix this, it's very annoying for the eyes.

Even newspapers have those nowadays.

Normally I'd recommend turning on V-Sync, but dunno if you can do this for RM games.

I don't think that this will do anything because my laptop runs at 60hz & the game I played (Skyborn) was running at 60 frames all the time. (at most) (tested with fraps)

I will try anyway, I have tried last time but not with global v-sync, maybe that would do something but I highly doubth that.

It also only looks a little bit like screen tearing, it's something else but it's hard to describe because my english skills are limited & I can't do a screenshot or record with fraps because it magically disappears when I try to.

There is more people that have the same problem, some claim that it is caused by hardware acceleration but I can't fiddle around with that because my notebook doesn't allow me to.

Pressing F1 & checking "reduce screen flickering" didn't do anything & the problem occurs fullscreen & windowed.
It's the V-Sync. I had the same problem. Turning it on in your graphics card settings and then restarting the game will fix it.

The reason the screen will tear even when the game is running at 60 frames per second, matching your monitor's refresh rate, is because the game doesn't always run at 60 frames per second, desynchronizing with the monitor's refresh rate.

Thanks, I tried but it didn't work.
Might be because XP games run at a default of 30FPS. Try taking it out of full-screen to play and see if that doesn't help. Usually it's full-screen that 'lags' out the game (I know, in most games it's the other way around but in RM it's weird like that).
Alt+Enter is your friend~

I tried & it reduces the "tearing" for some reason but it's still there. Thanks anyway, because in the skyborn forum it took 2 weeks for someone to answer...
OP here, I guess nobody cares anymore but I have a new PC & got rid of the problem with that.

It seems most likely that Hybrid SLI was the problem & that RPG Maker games have a problem with integrated graphics & dedicated GPU in general.

I still have a similar setup (integrated graphics + GPU) but it doesn't use Hybrid SLI anymore. If I remember correctly I couldn't switch to "integrated graphics only" when executing Skyborn because the damn driver was to old & there was no update. (They basically stopped supporting Hybrid SLI when the Notebook came out & I was stuck with the default driver)
