Is there any vCPU application ? For newbie to understand.

Let's say I have 4cores CPU, I need to make my PC behave like 1core 2Ghz cpu
to test appliaction/software. I was looking over google but I found nothing.
Like virtual box? It's free and you can set the number of cores a virtual machine has and cap the execution time each core gets of your real core. It's free too! The VM is treated as a clean slate machine so you'll have to install windows and whatnot on it.

e: Mind, if this is for testing game performance you need the right hardware for it. Normally a VM doesn't have direct access to the GPU so everything is software rendered and it can be pretty slow because of it. I don't know what's needed for GPU access either.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Yeah, rather than just a virtual processor, you're going to need a whole virtual machine.

You can run a virtual machine from your local machine for free using free software, as GRS said. It will be limited to a percentage of your real computer's capabilities.

If you want some higher end computing, you can "rent" a virtual server on Amazon Elastic Cloud Computing with whatever specs you want. It'll be running Windows Server 2012, which is the server version of Windows 8 - it can run anything that normal Windows 8 can run. It costs something like 25 to 75 cents an hour depending on how fast you want it to be, but I think the first year is free as long as you only need one virtual computer and don't use it more than a certain number of hours a month?
Thanks for replies. I have win 7 64bit so I can't install virtual box as it is for x86 version only.

I guess I will try that amazon thing.
Eh? It should be fine. I use Virtualbox on my 64-bit Windows 7 to install 32-bit Windows XP more than once due to 16-bit installers for various ancient games.
I had some error when I tried to install it. I tried it again now and it works.
Ok, I installed addons.

VBox can't find any usb device (like flash disc), also drag and drop won't work no matter how i setup it. Shared folder won't let me drag or copy files either. Net is not working on VBbox... well.

So it's virtual windows, but useless at this form as I can not access it in anyway. I tried like everything. >_>
You can't drag and drop files directly into the VM. For network select your VM in VirtualBox and go to settings. From there go to Network and make sure Enable Network Adapter is enabled and that its' attached to the NAT. For USB plug in your device to your computer and go to the USB under your VM's settings menu. Click the USB plug with the green plus on it to show the list of currently detected USB devices and add your device. Virtualbox will capture all communications with this USB device and pass it to the VM. Do not capture your keyboard/mouse with this otherwise only the VM will read your inputs and you'll have trouble working with your real computer.
Shared folder works after main pc reboot, so at least this one. I can't just make the others to work, it does not matter. Shared is all I need. ty for help.

I adjusted CPU and all others settings, so I can see drop in FPS if I code a game in a stress/wrong way. I could not see it on my PC specs as it was full fPS all time.
