I NEED HELP SHADING

I started a sprite some time ago. But before I make the rest, I decided to
shade this sprite . I've... attempted to shade as you can see but I need some tips on shading. Spriting is just a means to an end so Its not a big deal, but I still want the very basic art style to have a nice look to it.
