RTP STYLE GAME WITH CHIPTUNE OR MIDI MUSIC

I've been looking into making music in order to help with my characters but when I was looking into FL studio I was...stunned by how much there was. I took up Milkytracker and its going good so far. But I was wondering if people would like to hear chiptune music with RTP style graphic. Its like mixing 8-bit music with 16-bit(?)graphics. Should I take up something that makes more modern music? or should I try midi music again?
I think any type of music is fine. As long as they suit each other and the game well. They should fit right in, so to say.
Go with whatever you're most comfortable with!
Sorry, double post...
Consistency is the primary key. While graphics and audio work together, they're also separate components. Just avoid mixing 8-bit music with higher quality tracks.

As an FYI, the RTP for XP and up is 32-bit, I believe. If you want something that feels a bit more 16-bit, I'd either go with an older maker (2K or 2K3) or opt for a more eye-friendly pack like Mack or the DS and DS+ packs. While DS/DS+ is not true 16-bit (as far as I'm aware), the style used seems to cater more towards the SNES look than the Ace RTP.

Regardless of what you use, though, the only real way of knowing if it works is by trying it out. I'd lie if I said I hadn't thought of this myself at one time or another.

I think the reasoning behind this is 8-bit music still feels so much better than a lot of current melodies. I'd die a happy camper if somebody ever converted the Ace audio RTP into true 8-bit chiptune.
Find some original MIDIs and then use SynthFont. Also you'll easily find SNES/NES soundfonts by searching.
