TAKING PEACH'S DRESS OFF
Posts
Today's "create a sim challenge" for the Sims 4 CAS demo was to make a version of Princess Peach.
I made oil field heiress Belle Peach.
What else should Peach do in her alternate lives???

Oh man, she reminds me of the women of my small hometown that is now a frakking town.
Sims is supposed to remove me from reality not bring me back into it!

I-it's a life simulator...

I think you aged Peach about 10 years or so.
I just gave it a mess around as well (creating Peach XD ) and the demo is locked to one age group - that being young adult.
LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Make her a NASKART racer.

Don't get suckered into Sims 4.
I couldn't care less about toddlers, and there are still ways to build fountains for pretty landscaping with water (pools' absence don't bother me much either). I've read a lot about TS4 and I think the hate-hype is quite silly! Everything I've watched -- videos from Creator's Camp, the daily Twitch streams this week, my own self playing with Create-a-Sim -- points to a great game. I say this especially since it's starting to move toward The Sims 2, which is the best in the current series anyway.
But that's just my opinion! I'm very willing to pay $60 for the game (and have so that I can preload it on Origin). If you don't like TS4, Jude, I'm curious to hear why.
author=Libertyso..40 is the new Young Adult? she looks about 44, but with botox.author=Ratty524I just gave it a mess around as well (creating Peach XD ) and the demo is locked to one age group - that being young adult.

EDIT:
wait, they are making a 4th Sims? Why? What do you even do in those games? How do you win?

She would look the right age if the animator could do eyes correctly.
She at least looks better than Skyrim characters, though that's not saying much.

I purposefully made her eyes/lips weird because she's supposed to be Peach... who has tiny lips and giant eyes. Some more normal Sims:

kentona, it's a simulation. You don't win because it's a sandbox. There are goals you can achieve -- most generally reaching a Sim's highest aspirations (to be a master criminal, or a famous artist, or incredibly popular, for example). Eventually your Sims get old, die, and if they have children you can play their children. Or some other family in the neighborhood. Or just make a new Sim to start with. Or challenge yourself with a single parent and seven children.
You can simulate a self-employed gardener, a novelist, a top chef who likes to cheat on his partner, evil astronaut twins, a multi-generational household, or any mix of those. And more.
Or you can use The Sims 4 to just build. The building tools are fantastic. There are many simmers who do nothing but build houses and share them for other people to use! It's incredibly simple in TS4 because the shared gallery is built into the game. If you download the CAS Demo, you can see and peruse it. It's pretty awesome to have it in-game finally!
Basically, The Sims is whatever you want it to be. Are the games usually perfect? Haha, no, they're ridiculous sandboxes. Nothing's perfect. Are they tons of fun to sink hours and hours into? Dear god yes.

I know, right?
I, too, was expecting a feminist viewpoint dissection of the changes to Princess Peach's character in various games over the decades.
Anyway, if there are no pro racing uniforms, the next best choice is to make her a tennis player.

Oh. I tend to dislike pure sandbox games. Except Sim City (except even that bored me after I achieved the main goal of Megalopolis).
That explains why the Sims games never sounded appealing to me. They are pointless.

Pointless, for the most part, yeah... but rather fun if you just want to lose time for a few hours and chill. Different mind-sets.
Personally I like the 10 generation challenge - start with a sim, buy the most costly lot you can (leaving you only a few thousand dollars, if that) and try to build up an empire using only hard work and no cheating. The basic 'story' for it is that you're a bum who was deeded a parcel of land by another bum you were kind to who then hit it rich and died.
It's a pretty hard challenge, to. The amount of times I've died... you only get to pick your initial sims personality - all subsequent generations are to be randomised.

I've always loved The Sims mostly for the house building part. I like to think I'm good at interior design & architecture, and playing around in the Build mode is a good way to prove that to myself (I never show my creations to anyone). It's very addictive but it does get old after a few weeks/months. It's like an online game, but offline.
Sims 4 might just be perfect for you then, haha! This is a video from Creator's Camp, where a bunch of well-known modders/LPers/builders got to play the game:

This thread was so misleading.
Sorry, I was an English major. Nice Elspeth avatar though. =)

I've never died during the normal legacy challenge, but the Apocalypse challenge I've failed miserably at!
The challenge can be found for TS2/3 (and musings about TS4's) at Pinstar's site: http://www.simslegacychallenge.com/

I thought The Sims 4 was a huge step backwards with even less stuff to play with than previously. So that Sims 4 is even worse than Sims 3 was. And Sims 3 was apparently worse than Sims 2 with limited colouring options for stuff. And Sims 2 wasn't great either with... H&M & Ikea expansion packs.
Of course I haven't personally played The Sims since the first game. (though I got the second one in that ultimate pack EA gave away) But my sister has complained a fair bit how much The Sims games have gone in a less interesting direction and with less stuff to play around with.
This was just my very long way of saying that you're probably better off with an older Sims than Sims 4. At least until it gets an edition with a couple of expansions in it so that it actually has some content.
