Hey everyone! Long time. I've finished a 3-song EP available for free on Soundcloud. Check it out below. Hope you enjoy!

I really liked the first and third ones. They were so nice! The second... I wasn't big on the metallic 'feel' of it.
The other two, though. So nice ;.;
Great job! >.<)b

Review of Brandon Abley's ROBOT

Track #1. The Robot Drives a Superfast Car out into the Country

This track consists of acoustic guitar polyphonies providing a pensive state of mind, to some driving snare brushes and a contemplative chord progression. A brief interlude at the 1:30 mark reduces the percussive noise, providing a moment of contrasting insidiousness. A light riff leads from 2:15 on. The track's unassuming nature can lead it to be somewhat bland, and perhaps it ends too soon before it makes its journey deep into the country to behold its intricate fascinations, but the unassuming nature of the progression means you can't wield critique for its shortness too long.

Track #2. The Robot is Captivated by a Beautiful Object

A distorted synth meanders through grinding soundscapes, taking its time exploring the nooks and crannies of its crackly niche. I like this one a lot more than Track #1 for its bravery. You realize that it is a piano being bitcrushed, and it seems to be weighted down by something like knives or forks, or at least you imagine it to be. It evokes the latest works of Hot Sugar. There are swelling synth strings beneath. They lurk like your body is floating in water, with your ears only half submerged. Discordance begins at 2:45, but then again so do some beautiful melodies that take it in a slightly new direction. As if a field of flowers has opened itself up in front of you. If the title is true to a story being imagined, then the object is drawing the robot in like some strange obsidian stone. The robot has no feelings, but upon examining this object, he feels like he might glimpse a re-coding into understanding what they might be, better.

Track #3. The Robot has Dreams

Deep intonations of guitars and chimes. Does a robot dream in binary? There are timbre-y love chimes ascending at ends of phrases, complemented by swelling strings and what seems to be distant owl calls. If this robot had dreams, this dream is the only one in colour. The last dream. It's like the robot is remembering when he was a human, even though he wasn't. A machine who is aware of its own function, but is unable to escape. It is because there is no escape, nor place to escape from. It fades into battling percussion like the way memories fade and you are unable to get it back again

Conclusion

It's pretty good :)

Very good actually. liked it. lots.

Thanks for listening guys! I am glad you enjoyed it. These tracks were pretty fun to put together.

BurningTyger, I'm assuming you planned to use one of these in a game project? If so feel free! Thanks!
I just woke up from a nap and this is probably the most soothing thing I could listen to at the moment. Really great stuff! I'll echo Liberty's feedback and say that the first and third tracks are very, very nice. I don't mind the second track, but the other two sound like they were on a totally different level.

I must also echo the sentiments being shared concerning the first and third tracks. I really dig them... they'll make excellent background music for my drawing work this week.

Oh, and that driving tag is quite fitting. Listening to Track 1 and 3 elicits memories of the time I road tripped my way up the US 101 through Oregon and Washington. It was a very pleasant memory, so thanks for that.
Thank you for the kind words everyone! I also disliked track 2 (The Robot is Captivated by a Beautiful Object) the first time I recorded it. It was done mostly in two or three takes and is largely improvised and I wasn't really going to do anything with it.

Then I was messing around and put a bitcrusher effect on the piano. I thought the ways that the distortion on each note would go in and out of phase (you can hear that "pulsing" effect) in different ways depending on the harmonies was really cool. So it's now my favorite of the three, anyway.

However glad you guys like the tracks!
