METALOCALYPSE: A DOOMSTAR REQUIEM

Arrrrghghghg my friends and boyfriend are all sick of me rambling about this and I'm sick of them being sick of me rambling about it LOL

So who'se seen and mayhaps fallen in love with the Doomstar Requiem?! It exceeded my expectations, and my expectations were pretty damn high seeing as I'm not a fan of musicals, but knew I could count on Brendon Small and Gene Hoglan's musical genius to impress. But wow LOL.

C. Did anyone else lose their everloving OMFG shit when they saw Oftensen at the end of the end credits?!?

I die a little bit every single day season 5 isn't out.

Ohhhh yessss I definitely recommend watching all of the series first, if you can, in order lol. Yeah, there's a lot of irrelevant pure LOLs episodes, but there's moments with story progression. And even in the mindless episodes there's hints thrown in here and there.

Doomstar Requiem is aaalllllllll story based and the music is mind blowingly amazing XD

TOKI XD he was originally my fav too, I love him and the lead guitarist lol their interactions and the way they talk in general is hilarious. I'd say Pickles the dtummer and Nathan Explosion are my two favroites, which is weird cause I didn't care for Pickles at first lol but season 1 didn't flesh out the characters quite as well as the following seasons... Although if non-band members count, Oftensen, the band manager is my absolute fav and potentially one of my fav cartoon characters ever :D he tote's sings in the Doomstar too DX SO BADASS

AND THE POOR BASSIST XD if you play bass you'll deffs be able to appreciate a bunch of the jokes LOL. "THAT'S MY BASS PLAYINH HAND!!" "UH OH! There goes the BAND!" XD and constantly trying to prove himself to be a valuable member of the band XD

If you don't mind minor spoilers, I recommend listening to Magnus and the Assassin from the Doomstar Requiem, maybe just with lyrics so the video doesn't spoil stuff, it'd make less sense without visuals lol it features Corpse Grinder from Cannibal Corpse

Ohhhhhhhhh yes, there is a lot of non-metal songs lol it actually has a very similar feel and tone of the last few episodes of season 4, it has humor in it but it gets really dark and heavy, there's a loooottt of story progression and character development so it does have pretty serious moments but all in the name of setting up for season 5. There is a lot of non-metal songs lol there's one, Givin' Back To You, OMG. Such a great MJ spoof.

That's a pretty extreme hatred for the musical though OMG LMAO. I suppose if someone was going on expecting just an hour of hardcore Dethklok metal then I imagine it would be disappointing. I just love Brendon Small's work so every song easily won me over, it's just all very well written IMO
