THERE IS NO OPTION TO ADD SIGNATURE
Posts
Having read through this thread I have to say, nope you were wrong Liberty, you're another level of magnitude funnier when you're annoyed.
Also, wow to those old RMN shots, I do remember when. Much happier with the way the site looks now, cleaner, clearer, much easier to navigate.

Could administrators add post count below avatar?
Also could I post this Xand 金日光旦照 at the end of my posts it is not really a signature or image?

No. No, why would you even ask for that? It's not needed or wanted. You want to now your post count, there's a round-up at the start of each month of different site stats. Post count included. It's bullshit information anyway. MS is worth because it shows you've actually contributed to the site in some way, shape or form. Posts aren't and don't need to be shown.
You could post that with no line, yeah, but why you'd want to is beyond me. Did you not just hear people say how pretentious it is? But sure, go ahead. :/

The two things I can think of that inspire respect in forum users are the amount of times someone has hit "submit" on the text box, and some pile of kanji/hanzi next to the same name you can see above a person's avatar.
Xand金日光旦照 you are truly destined for great things in your internet posting career.

@Xand: Did I mention we have the ability to remove posts altogether? Please make sure you post in the correct topic in the future.
I'm surprised at how some unknown person comes in and asks to make major changes to the site. Xand posts long walls of nonsense and doesn't do anything game related. Why the fuck would anybody listen to you?

I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.

Well, post count wouldn't be a major change, it would probably take fifteen minutes to do. It's just a dumb change, because makerscore is shown instead.
I dunno, this is a forum dedicated to designing interactive experiences, so it's not even slightly surprising to me that everyone wants to share their own ideas on how the website should work.

That's true LockeZ, and what's more they should, I mean this is user feedback section of the forum, Xand is a user, and has given feedback, the problem here appears to be the inability to recognise when the idea is not going to fly no matter how many times you try to work around it. Perseverance is an admirable trait, Bullheadedness is not.
It's not a hard thing to implement, no, but it's a pretty major visual change in this minimalistic environment. Post counts, then sigs, then RMN looks like every other cluttered forum. Just look at the reaction from people who don't want those things. It's a big deal.
I'm not against giving feedback about the site. My point is that an unknown, rarely active, year old user who barely uses the site wants to change it in such a drastic way. If we added post count and sigs, then the whole site would be suffering from major clutter while that one user will be satisfied looking at their handful of posts(posts that are so long most people won't even read them). And the attitude displayed when the answer was no? Come on, that's not normal and quite surprising.
Most feedback is about bugs or useful changes. Not complaining about something that should be here because 'every site does it'.

Frankly, I don't mind at all when people suggest new things to add. I like a little discourse about stuff like that, even when I personally don't like the idea itself, but if the only argument you can come up with for something is that 'other forums do it' and then just ignore all the other points made as to why such things were removed in the first place and then say silly things like 'avatars are the same' or do stupid shit like edit your own versions into your posts even after you've been told that it's against site rules instead of trying to make a good case for such things... well then it's rather annoying.
I can't stand signatures. I was going to make a joke here. I was going to say, "Let's see how many RMN rules I can break here..." Then I was going to create a fake signature with a meme (there's two broken rules right there) of a cat with the tagline "I no can has signature?" But I decided it was probably reductive.
Signatures can be fun, but on any thread (dear me, I can just imagine this on the "What are you thinking right now?" thread), it's a mess and you just see the same damned thing over and over and over again. I honestly don't think you CAN make a good case for signatures.
Honestly, that's one of the great things about RMN: it's not a cluster-fucked mess. It's easy to navigate, easy to find what you're looking for, and easy to express yourself.

Why the hostility? It's not like he went "HEY WHEN THE FUCK ARE YOU ADDING SIGNATURES YOU DIPSHIT!11" but a simple "Will this change in the future?" :/
In any case, his signature at least doesn't look obnoxious like the others. Plus I find that he actually took the time to add it in every single post kinda funny. (Like you know how there's always this one weirdo in a site? I'd like to think he's the one (no offence mate xd)).
Ivory, are you talking about his name or the sig that is currently being shown on his profile? Because the sig he wanted to add is the large orange box displayed on his profile page, not the small writing. XD

It was more like "Will this change in the future and if not I'll add my signature everywhere without regard to the rules or the moderators' responses." Which sounds pretty inconsiderate (and entitled) to me.

Yeah, the dude edited every post he had to include a cruddy sig after he was told sigs don't and won't happen here.
It's p. obvious he was expecting the answer to his question to be, "Oh, how foolish of us! Let us add in this functionality so user Xand can put an ugly, artifacted jpg of poorly translated text meaning nothing to most of our users after every single one of his posts!"
And then he got super whiny after he was told no.

author=LockeZWe already made that change, except it was to remove post count (which is pointless) and put in Makerscore (which is also pointless, but more relevant to the site). That was back in ...2009? 2008?

I propose we include post count, makerscore, gender, location, age, level of education, annual income, political leanings, favorite foods, top 5 choices of ideal pet, and thoughts on yaoi.
It's the only way to be sure.

nhubi...thirty other people showing up and making jokes to stretch out the topic to three pages is not exactly the same thing as the OP being stubborn
