Whatever I don't have time to sit and wait for CAVE so here's my theory. If it's not at all possible just debunk it.
Anyway here's my Piano is the assassin theory.
The town protector role is what he originally started as beforE Tunger faceswaped (?) or a cover given by Liberty. Piano's role now is the assassin + vampiric related powers. Once he became the assassin he could only use a kill action. However Liberty gave him an action that would allow him to "die" protecting the assassin and showing him to be town. If he triggered this action the downside would be that he couldn't kill for two days, since he was well, dead. While Piano was dead no-one died. That would severely cut down on his time limit of the festival. However upon revival he would also gain the ability to role block or disable others. So kinda like Gourd and PA's you can become a mason deal.
Anyway I'm sure there's some hole in this but it's the only thing I can come up with for the assassin not being Suna. (Or me y'know).
So...if I died protecting the assassin, why didn't wildwes die the night I was killed?
Hmm the more I think about it the less my piano theory makes sense.
So I guess Suna and I just have to face the gallows!

You didn't protect or kill CAVE! It was a fake Seth made to look like the assassin had targeted the tenkai and you had taken the bullet for them.
It's pretty out there but that's what I wa trying to say.

Piano makes sense for the two nights, people talked about changing roles after death, is it possible Piano became the assassin after being killed? Seems like a stretch, but it's not like we have much to go on for nybody at this point

The only questions left unanswered are:
Who did Gourd follow? You or CAVE
Why did he follow that person?
I think we should discuss this, wemight be able to find something out by doing so, I would like tobelieve Gourd wouldn't follow one of you two for no reason, therehad to be a reason, so any ideas?

A letter we found in Tsai's belongings seems to indicate that he believed his daughter to be held hostage, so we can assume the assassin used that to his advantage and managed to persuade Tsai to agree to using his face in exchange for his daughter's safety. Not that she was actually in any danger, but Tsai wasn't to know that."

Unless it's possible to do two roles in one night, it's freakin' impossible for Piano to be the assass. If it is possible, we may as well just give up and murder Piano and then Cave because we have just about no chance of discovering the assassin.
The only choices now are SuNa and Ebeth, because everyone else has been confirmed.

Hmm at this point he looks most likely but he did throw the idea of it not being either of us and I wanted to see if that held any water. And I don't believe it's you or Sooz so I figured maybe piano. Uh I guess it could be Sooz if she somehow has an item that makes her look town????
But yeah it's most likely Suna or piano imo. I'm waiting to hear from CAVE on how much he saw of pianos death since the theory can be easily debunked. So unless CAVE can't I'd say Suna is the more solid choice.

It didn't have to be a face swap, it could have just been a part of Piano's role, after all he had a problem with holding back pieces of information about his role earlier in the game

I simply chose to use the gun on Gourd as my night action. From there, no other choices were given.
